From Whigham. Col. K. M. Thomas was a pleasant Tiaitor during the week. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Lewis visited their parents at Cairo Sunday. Billie Harrison and wife were in town Saturday from Bell district. Dr. Parker went down to Cairo Sunday morning to visit to friends. Cobb <fc Lewis bavo shipped two car loads of syrup again thu week. Henry Collins brought in some fine syrup again this week for sale, Mrs. Lonnie Harrison and Mrs. Kobe Harrison were in town this week. 6. W. English of Climax was among the guests ot Whigham this week. Mrs. Tison and mother Mrs. Cox from near town were here Wednes day. Dr, Baggs is here from Bain-, bridge in the interest of his dental work. Capt. Weston was here the first of the week. He is an up'-to-date saw mill man. Mrs. Homer Brooks and sister Mrs. Ladd, from Bell District were in town this week. Gus Parker, of MarB Hill settle ment, was among the syrup sellers this week. Calvin Butler, of the Bell district, was hustling round with the syrup sellers Saturday. Miss Rosa Pearce and Donald and Jim Bedell visited friends at Climax Saturday and Sunday. Miss Pansy Leben visited her cansm Little Rosebud English at Climax Saturday. Mrs. Tom Parker and daughter, from Marshill settlement, were in town this week. Will Cox of Thomasvillo was shaking hands with numerous friends here the first of the week. Thu McNair liouso is the home fob tho Drummer and it s ands second to none with that class. J. R. Anderson and wile and daughter, Miss Dome, are on a visit to Oohlockneo this week. Will Yawn and wife from near town were here the first of the week. Mr. Yawn is one of the live saw mill men. Mcsdamcs Alex Maxwell and Na than Maxwell from Swicord Dis trict were in Whigham Wednes day. Mrs. Mary Hornsby sold a wagon lond of turkeys hero for Thanksgiv ing. Poultry of all kinds are bring ing good prices, W. M. Quinn and wile nave moved back to their home near the Metho dist church, having sold their resi- donoe near tho depot to J. R. An derson. Yesterday was Thanksgiving and how thankful the world should be that it is as well with us as it is, as it could bo bo much worse in many instances. Misses Ada Dixie and Bonnie Tru- look attended the funeral of their Uuole Joe Maxwell of Cairo last Sunday. Tho funeral sorvioes were conducted by Rey. Stimpson of the Presbytennu church. Major R. A. Connell was town Tuesday. He loo, is smiling over tho coming of Whigham. No ono has done more for the advance ment ot tlio town than Major Con*, nell. The Harrell house has changed'.' They now are comfortably located near the depot in what is known as the Alex Maxwell house. The Har rell house ib the home of most of the clerks of this place and also tran sient boarders. Married near Fowltown on Wed nesday last, Mr. Thsd Bird and Miss Luvinnie Spooner by Rev. Boland. Mr. Bird is one of the rising young farmer near Whigham, while the bride is an accomplished young lady and highly esteemed for her lovely character.
