in town Saturday.

trict, was m town Monday.
Mrs. Bill Harrell, of the Bell dis
trict, visited here this week.

Mrs. W. H. Herring from near
town was in Whigham Wednesday.

Miss Bessie MoTyer and sister,

were iu town Thursday.

aocepted a position.

Calvary, were the guests of Mr. Bob
Maxwell Sunday.
Mrs, Woodbury returned from
Denalsonville Tuesday where sbe
had been visiting the past week.

tree in front of Mr. Dan Johnson’s
store, whioh he adorns with all kinds
of tinware da*ly.
Miss Bessie Peeble, the beautiful
and aooomplished daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. J. L. Peeble, is expected
home to spend the holidays. Miss
Peeble is attending Cox College in
Atlanta.
A little negro who was feeding
syrup mill at Mr. Tom Maxwell's
near town Thursday had bis right
hand caught in the mill, and realis
ing his eondition, put bia left hand
in to release the other, so it resulted
in having to amputate several of bis
fingers besides both hands being
badly mashed.
Mr. and Mrs. Braxton Martin,
who live near thia plaoe, loat their
little ten-year old daughter a few
days ago. Her clothing caught on
fire while in the yard near a waabpot
Sne ran into the house to her sick
mother who was unable to extin
guish the flames. The little girl
then ran to her father who was mak
ing syrup near the house. But on
reaching him the fire had done its
work. She lived only a few hours.
Her parents have the sympathy of
the entire community.

afternoon by Miss Annie Campbell
in honor of Misses Daisy Biaford
and Josie Munnerlyn, who are her
pleasing guests for a season, The
affair was thoroughly enjoyed by
those present.
