The question so often propoun
ded of late, as to what is to be
done with the old court house will
be settled in the nea r future; we
hope to the satisfaction of all in.
tereated in the matter. A num
ber of applications have been made
for the purchase of the building
but not until the first Monday itt
January which has been appointed
as the day of sale, will it be know,p
who is the successful bidder. -...
The court house-will be sold to
the highest bidder on condition
that it be removed entirety from
its present situation. Among
those bidding will be ' a gentler
man from Valdosta who is very
desirous of securing the building
and converting it into a furniture
store.
The intention of the County
Commissioners is to convert the
ground surrounding the court
house into a park that will be a
source of beauty and pleasure not
to the people of Bainbridge alone
but to the citizens of the county;
It is the general opinion that this
is the best disposition that can be
made of this property and will in
all probability be entirely satifac.
tory to the public at large.
