A Delightful Social Eveat.
On Monday afternoon Mias

most uniquely the Curry-Blaum
bridal party. Miss Mary Jackson
of Tampa, Fla., assisted in receive

Upon entering each guest—ex
cept the bride-elect-wasjpresented
with a tiny heart shaped card dain
tily handpainted in suggestive de
sign and inscribed with a wish for
the bride's happiness. The caids
were tossed to the bride, who was
seated in the midst, the idea being
that the wish on the card which
she caught would prove true. The
cards were then read aloud.
Numerous modes ot unexpected
amusements were furnisned the
guests until toward the close of
the evening the hostess handed
each one a loaf of sugar saturated
with alchohol, announcing that the
one in possession of the longest
flaming loaf would be the next
bride. One of the youngest of the
party secured the lucky loaf.
Dainty refreshments in which
the heart design was carried out,
were then served and the guests
assert that this was one of the
most delightfully unique entertain
ments given Miss Curry on the eve
of her marriage.
Ladies Euchre Club.
On Tuesday afternoon te Mar
ried Ladies Euchre Club met with
Mrs. B. C. Dickenson. This club
was organized last week at the
Wainman Hotel at which time
about twenty five members were
enrolled. Mrs. Walter Perry was
unanimously elected president and
Mrs. J. S. McRee secretary of the
club.
Tuesday afternoon might be
called the first regular meeting and
so delightfully and successfully did
Mrs. Dickenson entertain her
guests that much enthusiasm and
interest was created. There is no
doubt that this organization will
prove of great enjoyment to its
members as also to the society set
of the city.
Mrs. T. H. Tiller had the good
fortune to win the first prize offer
ed by the Euchre Club. The meet-
iegs will hereafter be held twice a
month and be entertained at the
residences of the members in alpha
betical order.
Lee-Pollard.
Those who remember Mr. T. De
witt Lee, who some years ago was
connected with the Grenada Drug
Co., in the capacity of prescription
clerk will hear with interest of his
marriage to Miss Rosa Lee Pol
lard, of Massachusetts, which oc
curred in this city last Friday.
The couple came here from
Dawson, Ga, Mr. Lee intending
to accompany Miss 'Pollard thus
far on her way to join her parents.
Arriving here, however, they de
cided to wait no longer and so, re
pairing to the residence of Rev. J.
T. Ryder they were at once united
in marriage. Mrs, Lee then re
sumed her journey to Florida,
where Mr. Lee joined her Sunday,
and they are now blissfully enjoy
ing their honeymoon in the land of
palms and orange blossoms.
Mrs. Lee is a native of Massa
chusetts She, with her parents,
has been spending the winter in
Dawson where she became ac
quamted with Mr. Lee. During
his residence in this city Mr. Lee
was very popular, especially in so
cial circles and it will be with sur
prise and pleasure that his friends
will read this announcement of his
marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Lee will
make their home in Dawson where
Mr. Lee is in business.

Pine Knot Factory Damaged.
The plant of the pine products
company at Albany was totally
destroyed by fire Wednesday. On
account ot the inflamable and res
inous character ot the materials
around the plant it was impossible
to quench the flames when they
once got a hold on the plant.
The destroyed property was val
ued at $25,000, on which there
was insurance for $4,000. It is
stated that the plant will be re
built at once, as they were doing a
prosperous business.
It was rather a curious coinci
dent that on the same day a simi •
lar plant at Cordele caught fire
and was badly damaged. This
p'ant was in reach ot the Cordele
fire department and was put out
before the damage was very great,
not amounting to more than $i,»
500.

FOR THIRTY DAYS.
We want to figure with you a little, beats all saving banks in
the United States. We have let another clerk go, save $75 00 per
month, makes $900.00 per year, I eo to work myself save $75 00 p er
year, makes $900.00 per year, to the saving $1800.00 per year, think
of that one item, now we want to reduce our stock. We have made
three tables and put our winter suits on them and marked them 40
per cent, off; that makes a $12.00 suit $7 20, $10 00 suit $6.00, $8.00
suit $3. 20. Just think of that, all winter suits with same reductions.
Our $18.00 to $25.00 suits with same reductions. After taking stock
we find we have
$14,556.00 IN CLOTHING
alone, and I, have just returned from New York, and we have a BIG
LOT of summer goods on the road. We need the money and besides
it is so foolish to carry over so much clothing. Now some of these
suits are medium weight and can be worn nearly all the year round
in fact some people wear them all the year. We have 234 dozen men’s
collars, standing and turn down, we will sell them ?t 5c. (see the win
dow,) We have a new lot of Stetson Hats which I bought while in
New York, we will sell them at $2 50. A small lot “Hawes’i $3.00
hats, light colors, last year’s styles, will sell at $1.00 each. In fact we
have a lot of odds and ends of shoes, pants, etc., one to four pairs
each, will almost take your price. Now listen and DON’T FORGET
these prices for the above goods.
Sale Only Runs Until March 15th.
It will tade the CASH to get them atHhat, as we say we have
only Mr George Lasseter and myself to wait on you, and we are going
to save $1800 00 per year. We mean to give you money’s worth, now
don’t wait until after March 15th and then come in and want the
above DISCOUNT. Yours to reduce stock and expenses,
