On Thursday afternoon Cli
max had something entirely
new in her history—a match
game of ball between'the Whig
ham and Climax teams. Cli
max was decidedly in the lead
until one of her best players
was struck by the ball 'and
even then the teams tied. In a
short while the Climax boys
will go over to Whigham and
see what they can do on their
diamond.
Last Friday was the last day
of our school and in honor of
the occasion a most sumptuous
dinner was spread in the grove
in front of Mr. I. A. Allen’s
beautiful home and a more
delightful picnic has never
been enjoyed in this vicinity—
for it was a large crowd of con
genial people with plenty of
good things to eat and lemon
ade and ice eream for the after
noon. Misses Boyce and Her
ring deserve the congratulation
of the entire community for
he success which rewarded
their earnest and untiring ef
forts in behalf of their school,
and it is the wish of the patrons
that they return next year.
