And all because she has made the biggest leaps and done the biggest things lately, of any other city of her size in the South. Bainbridge will have more lights in her “White Way” than any other place south of Macon, Savannah alone excepted. And all this was gotton in so short time. ’ The Mayor and Council met one night, it being the first time it had really been discussed before that body as to the advisability of putting in a “White Way”. Happily for the city there is not a croaker on the Council, and all know Mayor Callahan is in for everything that will build up or beautify Bain bridge. In a short while that night it was ordered that the ‘White Way” must come. The cit y bought eight lights to go around the Park, which, with the new sanitary drinking foun tain gotten up by the Federated Women’s Clubs of the city, and which is now being installed, and together with the other improve ments in the Park, will make it one of the most delightful places to behold. In fact not A more beautiful park can be found in the South. H. Caldwell on Shotwell street was entered and valuables to the amount of $400 or $500 worth were stolen. The theft was com mitted in broad daylight between the hours of 8:30 in the morning and 4:30 in the afternoon. Mr. Caldwell had taken a trip in his car, leaving home at the time mentioned in the forenoon, returning in the afternoon. It was noticed on the return that the back door was open, but Mr. Caldwell thought that the ser vants had carelessly left it open, but on inquiry found that this was not the case. On close examination it was found that entrance had been effected through a window. A fine pearl handle pistol was stolen, as was also several scarf pins, some of them with dia monds and very costly. A num ber of razors were taken. Some of these were of the finest make. Two or three of them being pres ents from Mr. Caldwell’sbrother, who bought them and sent them as a present from London. There is absolutely no clue to the robbery, though it was com mitted as was said above, in broad daylight. BAINBRIDGE. He has been I one of the main factors in keeping whiskey from flood- | ing thi i State, and prohibition will be one of the planks in his platform. He is one of the greatest Democratic leaders in Georgia, and though he has hardly three weeks fection of beauty is reached. • When it was learned that the Mayor and Council were backing up the “White Way”, individuals began buying lights, until fifty or more have already been bought, and still the end is not yet. The “White Way” will be in stalled, the street paving will be finished, and the magnificent high school building will be com pleted nearly at the same time. Why not celebrate all these at the same time with befitting ceremonies? You may expect that something of the kind will be done. Look out for the an- nauncement.
