sentatives in the legislature that
the voice of the people is heard
on all public matters of State
that concern them most. This
being true, the people are entitled
to know for what the various
candidates stand who aspire to
this important office. I can not
in this short announcement of
j course, touch upon all the im-
j portant. questions that are now
I before the public and that will
I come up for consideration in the
J next legislature. Speaking gen-
jerally however, I am what is
known as a progressive demo
crat. I believe that much good
can be accomplished in ihe next
legislature if the people will care
fully select their representatives,
and if I am chosen by the people
to act in this capacity it will give
me genuine pleasure to serve them
I to the very best of my ability.
I have lived in Decatur county
] for !) years. During all this
I period I have resided in the
. towns of Donalsonville and Lela,
j but expect sometime in the near
j future to move my residence to
j the city of Bainbridge. I make
this statement inasmuch as I
deem it fair to state in the be
ginning that 1 favor a division of
j our county in the manner pro-
j vided ii: cue bill introduced in the
j last legislature. I own property
! in both the eastern and western
portions of the county, and as
'stated, I expect to make the
’eastern portion my home. A
‘careful study of the question,
•however, has demonstrated to
1 me beyond a dmibt that where a
county is -ulIk- . ntly large to be
divide- , tne financial condition
land gen ral wellfare of the peo-
ir* generally improved in that
, portion of the county from which
j the new county is made, while
‘ the growth of that portion re
maining is not in any respect re-
i tarded. Decatur is one of the
largest counties in the State, and
I believe this legislation would
be to the interest of all her peo
ple. J make this statement can
didly and openly so that the peo
ple may know in the beginning
where I stand.
As above stated many ques
tions of State wide importance
will come up for consideration in
the next Legislature, and if elect
ed a member to that body it will
be my earnest purpose and - am
bition to help to accomplish some
thing that will redound to the
permanent benefit of the people.
Thanking each and every one
who may support me, I am most
respectfully, your fellow citizen,
P. S. CUMMINGS.

that kind put through, but one
also to insure teachers getting

Aspiring to re-election to the
office or Solicitor General of the
Albany Circuit, subject to the
ensuing primary, I announce my
candidacy for that office, which
by the grace of the people I have
heretofore held without opposi
tion. I trust that the white
voters of this circuit, to whom my
candidacy for re-election is to he
submitted in the primary, will
regard my experience as pros
ecuting attorney as being ortome
value to the public interests and
my record as such officer as
meriting my re-election.
My attendance on the courts of
this circuit and the proper dis
charge of the exacting duties of
my office will preclude the po^'^
bility of my making a thorougn
personal canvass of the circuit,
but I am sure that these condi
tions will be understood and
appreciated.
I respectfully solicit, and shall
be sincerely grateful for a favor
able consideration of my candi
dacy for re-election by the quali
fied voters of this circuit.

Many' articles must go regardless of cost, or what
the price has formely been. These are such goods
as we cannot afford to carry over to another season.
They must be closed out.
It is useless to try and enumerate the articles
included in this Bargain Price list. The list includes
some of almost everything we carry in stock. In
some lines very few pieces of goods are left, while
in others there are a great number, but in all you
will find that we are offering rare inducements in
order that we may be saved the trouble of taking
such goods in stock.
