'Sermon The winsome personage, the most charming of musical cemedy girls who is known as “The Pink Ladv,” is back with us again at the T'tlane theatre and was just as effective in exercising her wiles on her auditors Sunday night as she was when she made her local debut, three years ago. A big audience gave an enthus iastic welcome to the excellent organization which Johh C. Fish er, who is here himself, has fav ored lccal theatre-goers with for the holidays. “Bring along the Camera’ ’ and “Donny Did and Donny Didn’t would alone suffice to make a musical comedy but these are merely two gems in a coronet of jewels. She is young and pretty: she knows how to sing and she is sprightly. Miss Dean is a lithsome young crea ture who would stand out more if she had a .better role. Miss Maybelle Macdonald,‘‘The Pink Lady” was altogether pleasing. John Mund, Steven Scoot, Ed mond D’Ojsay and all the other male principals were adequate. CITY OFFICERS RE-ELECTED For the first time in many years the entire city force of police and fire depaatment were re-elected without any opposition. The council met Monday night and re-elected the old officers and had no applications for the places. Both of the departments have been very satisfactory dur ing the past year. The police department has been carried on in a very satisfactory manner, the clerical end of the office being in the best shape that it has been for a long time, the present chief giving that work his especial attention. The fact that there was no one offering for these places shows that the service of the men now in the city employ must be very well liked by the people generally. We have had no bad fires duiing the past year and the city has been well policed, so well thit the Mayor’s court cases have been very limited. For the cost of the maintaining of these two departments the city is getting splendid service. MUSTANG For Sprains, Lameness, Seres, Cuts, Rheumatism Penetrates and Heals.
