In Memory of Mrs. Nancy Pow
ell, who fell asleep in Jesup, jan.
25 1916, after severe illness of 8
days of fever, was done for her
that medical skill and loving
hands could do but to no avail.
She a member of the Baptist
church.
Rev. Cato Conducted the fune
ral services, she was laid to rest
in the Dearing Cemetary.
Amid the sad and sorrowfull
heart relatives and freinds, she
leaves a mother, brother, sister
and a loving nusban, Mr. Stom-
er Powell and six small children,
four girls and two boys, besides
host of freinds and relatives to
mourn her departure.
She lived a true Christian life
and bore her suffering with for
titude. Weep not for her, dear
husband and chldren though your
lost may seem so great, but pre
pare yourself to meet her in that
world beyond: where parting is
no more, the lord giveth, the and
lord taketh away: bessed be his
name.
Dear Nancy is dead, now how
sad the thought, far to lovely to
depart.
No pen can describe, no tongue
can tell.
The greif that in our bosom
dwell.
Oh why so soon our freind was
called.
How solemn did the sentence
fall.
While standing arouud the
dying bed.
It was wispered, Nancy is dead.
How sad the time has passed
away.
Since Nancy left us that Tues
day.
Her pleasant smile, and voice
so dear.
Have left a kind rememberance
here.
Oh what a mournful sight to
view.
Your husband and children with
out you.
In all their action may be read,
That their mama is dead.
But then we should not dare
complain.
Since our sad lost is your gain.
It is the lord and must be best.
That he hath the home at rest.
Then we will try to watch and
pray.
That God may fit us for that
day.
When like thee we’er called to
die.
we will meet with thee above
the sky.
Then weeping freinds dry your
tears.
Since God has taken her in his
care.
He has done what he knew
was best.
Oh look to heaven with anxious
care,
Be this our ferveht prayer.
That when our race on earth
is run.
We will meet her around the
great white throne.
