IN STORY BOOK LAND” be Presented in Bainbridge Friday Night Feb. 1 11th, at Callahan Theatre. . tn Story Book Land, a musical Z Will be presented in uL.p Friday night, Feb. inbridge Friday night a at the Callahan theatre by ,Lo\ talent includiag the best tamable in town. The pro- etion will be given under the snices of the Ladies Guild of st John’s Episcopal Church, d the ladies are promising the st local play ever attempted „ Mr. J. L. Francis repre- nting the John B. Rodgers oducing Company arrived in city two weeks ago to take -ge of the rehearsing and staging of the play and a •al committee headed by Mrs. ate McFarland secured all the en t a year ago of which there e 150 and rehearsals have been dng place with businesslike pdarity at the school audi- iUM. t will be remenlbSfed that t year '*Fi Fi of the Toy op" was staged under the ne auspices, which was a ty great success, both artisti- ly and financially. “In Story ok Land,, is owned and mana- i by the same firm and staged th the same methods as used the staging of “Fi Fi.” $ere is a skeleton plot runn- through “In Story Book id” not . unlike “Peter Pan," tome of the other of the well iwn juvenile comedies. Jean Allen, two children, dissatis- . with their home and mother, hthey were in Story Book id as pictured by their new k of the same name. Their h is granted by Moonbeam Dream Fairy, who transports m to the laud of dreams by aerial route, where they ex- ience some strange and dis cing adventures. They find t the magic wishing-ring be- ging to the King of Hearts been stolen and the Knave of irts, the King’s son, is sus- ted. While they are explor- the Garden of Mary, Quite drary, the ring is mysterious- oed into Alien’s pocket, who ledtately sells it to Simple Simon, for Geraldine, his pet mule. The children are subject to many adventures of this kind, before they are finally allowed to return home, which they de cide is the best place and mother their best friend after all. ‘ ‘In Story-Book Land., abounds in catchy music, screamingly funny comedy situations beauti ful dances and ballets, and dazzl ing costumes. Those who have attended rehearsals have laugh ed at Mis. and Mr. Spratt, a hen-pecked husband and his wife and Simple Simon and Mar jorie Daw, whose love making is unique, to say the least, and Geraldine, the mule whose antics never fail to amuse even the performers themselves;and wondered at the beatiful duets, solos, and quartettes of Tom, the Pipers son, Mary, Quite Con trary, Knave of Hearts and Bo- Peep, who has lost her sheep. The choruses and aesthetic dances are in a class by them selves, the singing of the Poppies and Gardeners and the dances of the Nymphs and Roses, Follies Sufferagettes and Society Girls are especially entertaining. The local committee of the Ladies Guild has been unusally fortunate in securing the best talent in Bainbridge tor the lead ing roles, some of the most popular and entertaining people available appearing in all parts ot the production, while the participants of the dances are the girls of the younger set who have'time and again demonstrat ed their ability in this line. The play is given for a worthy object and it is hoped the people of Baihbridge will co-operate in making this occasion the biggest and best attended thing of its kind ever given in this locality, Don’t fail to see “In Story-Book Land.”.
