South to make the photos for us to have cuts made there from. In sending them to an engraving company we got a letter from the company that we sent them to they stated that out of thous ands [of photographs that they had in the past the lot we sent was the best and the most useful that they had ever receiv ed. The tribute paid to the local photographer was of such a sincere and high type that we publish it just to let the folks know that they have an artist among them. Mr. Matljews had only been ill a few days and his taking away was shock to his friends and his acquaintances. He was one ot the most prominent stock- men of the section and had been engaged in the business here for a number of years. Mr. Mathews was about 40 years old and a per fect speciment of manhood, of magnificent physique and a genial gentleman that will be missed by all that knew him. His remains were carried to Ozark for interment. He leaves a wife 1 and two little sons to mourn his I departure and these have the I sympathy of the entire com- | munity. Few better hearted men hived than Dave Mathews, and j while a stalwart man oi power- ! ful strenght he was as gentle as j could to be to those of less fortune in health and strength than he I was.
