Mrs. J. M. Garrett, aged 67
>ears, mother of Mr. J. G.
Garrett of this city, who lived
eight miles below Quitman in
Brooks county, died this morning
at 5:20 o’c'o;k. She had not been
in good health for some time
and her death was not altogether
unexpected.
Mrs. Garrett was born and
reared in Terrel) county. She
moved with her husband and
children to Brooks county about
; twenty years ago. She was one
of the best know women ot her
section and was for a number of
years a devoted member of the
Primitive Baptist church.
She is suivived by her hus
band and eleven children. The
children are Mrs. George Willi
ams of Valdosta, Mrs. D. A. Mc-
Crackin and Mrs. W. J. Patrick
of Brooks county, J. C. Den
mark of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Wal
ter Harrell of Marianna, Fla.,
Mrs. Herrn of Port Arthur, Tex.,
B. F., J, L., T. J. and W. E
Garrett of Brooks county and
J. G. Garret of Bainlridge.
She was a woman of splendid
characted and devout Christian
life. Her death has brought
sadness to many friends
Brooks, Lowndes and Decatur
counties.
