service to the agriculture, com

country, and the Chief of the
Bureau is prrmpted to state

ment officials pronounce this new
scheme fallacious, and place it
in the same class with other
methods of long-range forecast
ing based on lunar, planetary,
magnetic, and astrologicrl con
siderations.

One of the finest rains of the
season came Sunday afternoon
and was badly needed. We had
a good rain just a week ago, but
on account of it having been so
dry lately the rain Sunday was
needed as badly as ever,
The picnic held for the closing
of the Recovery school at Ellis
Mill last Saturday was one of the
most enjoyable affairs of the
season. The concert Band of
Chattahoochee was there and
rendered excellent music and
making the picnic much better
than it naturally would have
been.
Mr. Geo. Howell and Mr. F.
W. Smith made a pleasant busi
ness trip to Chattahoochee Fla.,
ast Saturday.
Among those attending the
entertainment at Recovery last
Saturday night were Messrs. T.
J. Howell, Lucious Cobb and
W. P. Powell. Tney all report a
nice time.
Mr. Hinton Smith and brother
made a pleasant business trip to
Bainbridge last Wednesday and
while there Mr. Smith purchased
a fine horse.
