BAPTIST HYMEN’S MEETING HELD AT BRINSON MAY 2BTH Rev. J. Fred Eden, enlistment secretary of the state of Georgia, nelda meeting of the Laymen and Pastors of the Bowen Bap tist Association at Brinson, Ga., on Sunday May 28th. Rev. Eden came to us full of enthusiam for the work, and after giving us a very interest ing talk, explaining the purposes and plans of the Enlistment Field Work, he organized the associa tion into systematic committee work. J. B. L. Barber, of Bainbridge was elected secretary of the meeting and instructed to give a report of the meeting to the papers of the Association. Mr. W. C. Underwood, of Cyrene was elected Cairman of the Enlistment Committee for the Association, and the following were elected committeemen: Mr. Armstrong, Colquitt Church; J. W. Davis, Donal- sonville Church; W. J. Bryant, Jakin Church; 0. D. Sellers, Whigham Church; B. B. Harrell Brinson Church; H. H. Har grove, Cyrene Church; E. A. Maxwell, Calvary Church; J. B. L. Barber, Bainbridge Church; A. E. Belcher, Salem Church. There were twelve churches represented and it seemed that all present were inspired with the possibilities of the move ment. We had several interest ing talks from Pastors, ‘ Shell, Martin, Davis and Taylor. Lay men, Uunderwood, Harrell, i Murphy, Talbert and others. The purpose of the move is to do systematic work in build ing up interest and extending the Baptist Cause. The stronger churches are to send out Laymen’s teams to the weaker churches and inspire them with the importance of church work. It shall be the duty of teams to assist churches in organizing Sunday School, B. Y, P. U., and other lines of church work, when it is found that they hava not already done so. It was decided to begin this work at one and stimulate as much enthusiasm as possible be fore August and then to have a general Enlistment Field Cam paign. It is hoped that all the chuiches throughout the Associa tion will give their hearty co operation in this work. Virginia has a taste all it’s own! NOTE: — There are hurv dreds of different brands of cigarettes on the mar ket, which Piedmont has to meet in competition. Yet, in spite of these hun dreds of brands, one (a out of every 8 cigarette* smoked in the United States is a Piedmont — America’s biggest-selling " cigarette! Y OU know how it is with ordinary cigarettes. Most of them taste pretty much alike. But just you taste a Virginia cigarette. It’s differ ent. It has “character”! That’s why Virginia is called “the tobacco man’s tobacco’’. The highest-grade Virginia is in Piedmonts— ALL Virginia! Golden, lively, mellow as southern sunshine! Smokers stand by Piedmonts, because Pied monts give them what only choice Virginia to bacco can give them—“character”! Ask for Piedmonts—next time! TENTION ^CHANTS! direct from taleis.
