OFFICIAL OHOAN OF TUB (TJ'V OF IIAINHBIDOK ANIJ UKCATfB COUNTY. Telephone No. 239 The Houston Post says that Georgia is so busy now chasing boot-leggers that murderers and robbers can sit around the court house and discuss the best way to conduct the chase. Now seriously is there any scientific reason why water tastes so much better soon in the morning than any other time? We mean in a prohibition town now and no other. 12 Pages Cooper Griggs of Florida says that Bryan will make good presi dential timber in 1920. Aw, give us a rest. Both Judge Park and Judge Cox having announced tor Con gress we are in a fair way now to have some lively campaigning. The'jManchester Mercury ob jects to a lightning rod agent op posing the preparedness program ot the National government and wants to know why this man is selling lightning rods. Why to get the chance to recharge them with a Ford. We aro going to have a very quiet and dignified campaign for Governor says an exchange. And why not? There is no issues be tween the candidates as they are all agreed on everything. Yep; we will dignify it to a finish. The mosquito proposition is one that is very paramount now and every means should be used by the citizens to protect them selves from them. A little look into the low places about your premises may bring knowledge of their existence in time to do some good. I The Savannah show-up of Tom 1 Felder was nothing more than Nay Pauline that striped cr pided skirt does not add one ounce to your looking stout., , „ , . Nope, you look just as long and was expected of this man as he lanky as you ever did dear girl. ‘ s u kn ™ n a f bel , n « °" e that is looking for the almighty dollar in every moral matter. A man believes in the integrity of Tom Felder at his own peril. The man that enlists his name on the subscription roll of the Post-Search light does himself his country both good and in- ciden ally backs up a good paper. The city authorities will do well to look after some of the holes that are holding water and causing mosquitos. Some very bad cases of this exist in the city and something ought to be done about. The lower edge of Cal houn, of West, and near the post office hold water and they are therefore breeding mosquitos Lady writing in the New York Herald about bull frogs weighing ten pounds in Cuba jumping all over her house and making life miserable for her. Things are getting in bad shape when the women go to acting this way. We always did believe in polite ness and gallantry and all that but this lady is either doping, lying or drunk. Folks can see things though. When a man’s wife becomes interested in politics and a “bet ter babies” movement does it re quire her to neglect her own to quality for the job? Our children do pretty well when we stop to think that about all the associa tion they have is the little negro nurse girls. Negro girls make a pretty good out at raising white children after all if you wish to give them credit for what they really do. FOR HIS DUTY. When the show down comes I EVERY MAN READY it will be seen that Wilson’s in trying to avoid war as patiently as he has won for him the con fidence of the people and volun teers will flock to the army feel ing that a ju9t war is on and feeling that this country has done all in its power to keep out of it. o | Railroad Commission we would There will he weeping and;suggest a Bainbridge man as wailing and gnashing of teeth good material for the job in now as all social events in the j Charlie Glover. Tfie expected wholesale disre gard of the Sabbath that some Campbell Wallace having re- predicted in the event the Sun- signed the experts job on the I day closing law was revoked by ' the council did not materialize at all. The men of Bainbridge have their own conseeinces to govern fighting. Georgia has her men ready and in the field and will be found al ways at the back of the govern ment of this country. The Georgia boys always give a good account ot themselves. It is time to grab a club when you see a fellow standing on 4he corner with his hand in his pockets and his tongue wrapped venomously around the name of every neighbor that he lias. The Commission could do no bet ter than to name him. Wimjay Brine has not been able to convert the Mexicans to his doctrine of peace and failing in that we hope now that he will wake up from his laying down on the President in a critical time by unswerving support of him in the coming campaign. If he has any idea of political gratitude he will do this very thing. The man that attends to his own business gets along mighty well, but he that meddles with that of ofthers does not benefit himself or any one else at al 1 . There is a strong moral to this. Alright now just take time quoting the man that puts his cheap politics above his support of his country in time of warand you will see how your citizen ship is regarded by your fellow man. I Henry Ford is a great advocate of Peace. Suppose we send him to Mexico on the first trip and see what he can do with a bunch of mescal drinkers with his new doctrine. Unfortunately gun powder is about the only thing that will convince an average Mexican that things are bilious. We are now on the verge of a war and we are not in so much danger from any one except the back biters that are in our own gates. The American Plank of the Democratic platform will put The terrible Ford still is taking to shame any man or set of men its usual toll of life and it must; that love their dollar above their be noticed that who handles the Ford is responsible for the ac cidents. It is said that an effort will be made to defeat the present repre sentatives of the county because of the fact that they voted the prohibition bill. and guide them in this matter and there will be a holier respect for the Sabbath here now than there has ever been brought by municipal fines and billes in the hands of officers. The coun cil did right to recognise that there is a living and breathing respect from all local individuals for the Sabbath. Where, on where is that blood thirsty bunch that have occupied Park seats for months past de manding stern methods in Mexi co and “berlud” by ihe gallon? Where are they, all in the black berry patch and perfectly satis fied to let men do the fighting since they have given counsel and comfort to those who would bring us into war. These embryo Caesars and Napoelons have al! flew the coop. The lions have turned to mice. There can not be a more worthy spirit in any man’s breast than the one that will him trom private life into the ranks ot the soldiers of his own native land but dont it make you sick to see some politican who is well aware that he can not pass the physical ex amination blow about how anxi ous he is to get on the line of battle, the glory line as it were. We have some that know they wont be accepted just "chawing” the bits to get into this war. It is a pity that their bluff cant be called in some way. The declaration of War be tween this country and Mexico will find the same response that it has ever found in America. Men are ready and willing to go to front and measure up to any tasks Imposed on them. The man that has the least idea that this country cant put her full quoto of men in the field will find their calamity howling vain and foolish. Our people dont like war, they are opposed to it in every way and shape but when every effort has been made by the President to avoid war has been shown as vain they are ready to rally to their government. The calamity howler and the grouch should be silenced and any man that now preaches against his government should be shot as giving aid and help to a public enemy. Every sensible man in America knows that the U. S. Government has tried to avoid war and had the disgruntled politicians and inside traitors kept their mouths shut they would not have brought it on us. Now is a time for stern dealing with those that forget their ob ligations to a government that has been their protection should be silenced and quick. The harp ing of little men has given en couragement to the Mexicans and led them to think that the government would not receive the support of the people and hence their nagging methods of forcing war on us. Each citizen of this country enjoys rights and privileges that those of no other country on the globe and they will show by their actions now what they think of the man that gives comfort to the enemy by harping on and adversely criticising the Presi dent for cheap political purposes. We have men that have been prominent in their time, but having lost influence by their political perniciousness who are now trying to make capital by handicapping the government in its heavy burdens. The people of the state of Georgia are be hind the President and right or worng we are with our country. If a man be so low, so mean and so dirty as to give counsel and comfort to the enemy be among us, we shall squelch him in- stanter. This is not a time for growlers and grouches to be heard but is a time for men to act and act swiftly. The govern ment will make short work of Mexico and there will be little for apprehension. Our greatest danger is from within for we have little men that would sink this government to perdi tion just to get the privilege of saying “I told you so”. Frown down on the quasi traitor and give the President your moral support and the matter will soon end. War has been Jpractically cer tain for weeks past. Every man mu9t do his part in his sphere. If you cant bear arms you can help by silencing the men that give comfort to the enemy by criticism.
