CALLAHAN BLOCK
BAINBRIDGE. GA.
The general impressian among
members of the general assmebly
of Georgia is that if any appro
priations of any consequnce are
passed at this session at all, one
of them will be the appropria
tion to erect and equip two new
buildings at the state sanitarium
for the insane at Milledgeville,
lor which the trustees of that
institution have asked $300,000.
At ihe present time the sani
tarium is treating upwards of
1,000 more patients than its
capacity provides for and the
urgent necessities of the institu
tion have been strongly impress
ed upon members of the legis
lature.
' The building in which negro
patients are housed is so greatly
overcrowded that the death rate
among them is alarmingly high,
while conditions in the building
for female white patients are
almost as bad.
In a recent statement issued
over his signature, Chairman,
John T. Brantley, of the board
of trustees, declared the sanitar
ium will be obliged to close its
doors to additional patients ex
cept to fill vecancies occuring
by death and discharges.

UGH! CALOMEL MAKES
TOO DEATHLEY SICK
Stop using this dangerous
drug before it salivates
you! It’s horrible!
You’re bilious, sluggish* consti
pated and believe you need vile,
dangerous calom?l to start your
liver and clean bowles.
Here’s my guarantee! Ask your
druggist for a fifty cent bottle of
Dodson’s Liver Tone and take a
spoonfull to-night. If it dosen’t
start your liver and straighten
you up better than calomel and
without griping or making you
sick I want you to go back to the
store and get your money.
Take calomel to day and to
morrow you will feel weak and
sick and nauseated. Don’t loose
a days work. 3 ake a spoonful of
harmless Dodson’s Liver Tone
tonight and wake up feeling
great. It’s perfectly harmless,
so give it to your children any
time. It can’t salivate, so let
them eat anything afterwards

Johnnie Spencer of the Macon
Telegraph wants our job of In
spector for the Silk Stocking
Club. We like that fellow pretty
well but if he will stand on the
same street in Macon that we
did on the Fourth of July and
look ’em over he will see that his
duties in that respect will keep
him too busy at home for any
wandering into other fields. Yep
we saw more silk hose and less
underskirts in Macon in one day
than you would see here in five
years.
The multitude of school book
bills that have been introduced
make it very hard to tell just
what educational steps will be
taken in the work in that direc
tion. Every would be aspirant
here is trying to ride either the
school book business or the pro
hibition business as a hobby and
they are obstructing real con
structive legislation. Some real
good work is being done and if
the paid agitators could be kept
out of the' way something very
beneficial might come from the
session work.
