Haddon, were visitors to Thomasville Monday. Mrs. Henrietta Dillon of Miama, Fla.,was honor guest of a de lightful affair given by Mrs. T. S. Hawes, Thursday afternoon. Those present were Mesdames Walter Perry, R. H. May, H. L. Gans, Henry Abrams, of Tampa, Max Nussbaum, H. C. Gammage, W. J. Grom, L. A. Freedman, Gordon Chason, A. H. Belcher, H. S. Hamil, Anna Griffin, E. J. Perry, Misses Edna and Stella Nussbaum and Nan Philpot. Mr. Jack McCaskill entertain ed with a swimming party on Thursday evening at the Mc- Caskill’s pool, after a delightful swim, a picnic lunch was served. Those going were Misses Cecil Harrell, Kathryn Chestnut, Lida Lee Bruton, Gladys Atkinson, of Thomasville, Miriam McLellan, Pearl Floyd, Floreed Randell, of Madison, Eleanor Brooks, Euzera McCarty. Messrs. Joe Salina, Jabe Stokes, Lloyd Rich, Ralph Kwilecki, Thad Morris, Harry McCaskill, J. C- Goodrich, Ben Russell, jEHington Willis. Mr. and Mrs. Brinson chaperoned the party. Mrs. A. H. Mills entertained on Friday morning with bridge in honor of her house guest, Miss Margurette Knox, of Way- cross. Mrs. H. L. Gans, won first prize, Mrs. R. H. Huggins officiating. Miss Annie Davis played the wedding march while Misses Ola Powell and Ethel Kelley and Messrs. John L. Davis end John Rentz led the way into the parlor followed by the bride and groom. The bride wore a handsome dress of white organdie, trimm ed with white satin and sleeves and stockings to match. The brides hat and veil was of hand some white maline. The young couple received a shower of rice as they were leaving in a car for their future home in Lela, Ga. The best of wishes for a long and happy life. 8. C. BELL ANNOUNCES.. It is with much interest that R. C. Bell announces his can didacy for re-election to the of fice of Solicitor General of the Albany Judicial Circuit. In re viewing the name of Mr. Bell for this situation, it can be done with some certain degree of informa tion with reference to the fitness ot the man for the place. The service of the past performed by this official is still fresh in the minds of the people thus giving opportunity to all voters to de cide on absolute merit. On the basis of service render ed fostered by a large and valu able experienced gained through actual service in this office. Mr. Bell announces his candidacy feeling that he can serve the people in this office with greater satisfaction and efficiency than during the past. Dr. Leonard Willis, son of E. J. Willis of Bainbridge, has re cently returned from New Orleans where he was associated with the Charity hospital as house physician for a period ot two years. Dr. Willis returns to feis home city to enter upon the practice of medicine and will be associated with Dr. G. T. Clark. Dr. Willis is a graduate of Tulane University. BELCHER COMPANY Bainbridge, Georgia MEAT CURING IN SUMMER IN COLD 8T0RAQE On the afternoon of April 12th, Mr. J. F. Fain ot R. F. D. killed two hogs for the purpose of testing the killing and saving of meat in hot weather by cold storage. On the morning of April 13th the meat was thoroughly salted and placed in our meat curing cold storage. At the^end of thirty days half the|meat was talaen out of storage and put through the usual smoking process for ten or twelve days. Fifteen days later Mr. Fain came for the balance of his meat and stated that he had made a thorough examination of the first lot and found it thoroughly preserved nicely cured and as fine as any meat hejhad ever cured during cold weather.
