Cox To Win By Overwhelming Majority Aggregate Majorities in Counties Going for Him Estimated at 3000, while Aggrdgate Majorities in Park’s Counties About 1000. The Cox Campaign Committee, composed of reliable and conservative citizens of all the counties of the district, has made a careful study of every county in the district as to the congressinal race and using as a guide the most careful and conservative infor mation obtainable, gives as its opinion that Judge E. E, Cox will be nominated for con gress September*12th, by a majority of approximately 2000. Reputable and well known citizens have affixed their signatures to to the esti mates from their respective counties and these are given below in detail. Colquitt For Cox by 600 Majority. Moultrie, Ga. Sept. 6th, 1916— Golcjniitt county has about 3800 qualified voters. Under favora ble conditions there will be poll ed about 2500 votes and Judge Cox will gat a majority of at least 600. The undersigned pre dicted a majority like the above for two candidates in primary in 1914 and the prediction proved correet. The conditions were not so favorable for the candi dates as they are now far Judge Cox. , R. H. Freeman, Sr. J. W. Batts, Jas. L. Dowling, J. O. Gibson. t. i Park Will get 60$ of Worth Vote. Sylvester, Ga., Sepe. 6th, 1916.— Judge Park will carry about 60 per cent of Worth county vote and Cox about 46 per cent. The size ot the vote depends upon whether or not weather is favor* able for farm work, Prospects are for a moderate percentage of the vote to be cast. Clifford Grubbs, E. K. Gulley, J. L. Tison, T. R. Perry. 350 Majority For Cox in Dougherty Albany. Ga., Sept. 6th, 1916. — Dougherty county will give Judge Cox a majority of 300 to 350. This is the opinion of the most conservative political ob servers of the county as well as of the undersigned. H. A. Peacock, Henry Tarver. Early For Cox by 100 Majority. Blakely, G., Sept. 6th, 1916.- Though Early is the home coun ty of the present Congressman’s brother and would naturally be expected to go for Park. Good political Judges put Early in the doubtful column with the doubt in favor of Judge Cox. It is confidently claimed by conserva tive Cox supporters that he will carry the county by 100 or more majority. Blakely will give Judge Cox a good majority. A. H. Gray, W.N. West, W. W. Fleming, W. J. Grist, L. M. Ram bo, C. C. Boyett. Mitchell County Promises 1400 Majority For Cox Camilla, Ga. Sept. 6th, 1916.— To the people of the 2nd district: We have in Mitchell county 3178 registered voters. We have had no county primary, and therefere all county officers will be nominated on the 12th of Sep tember. In view of the fact that every county officer has opposi tion, this county will poll the largest vote in its history. To be conservative, we will poll 2600. In our opinion ft will not be possible for Congressman Park to get more than 500 or 600 votes. Any person giving infor mation other than for political purposes will verify this esti mate. We have studied condi tions carefully and want to as sure the people of the district that Mitchell county on the 12th of September will take care of her favorite son by a overwhelm ing majority. J. W. Butler, T A. Acree, W. S. Collins, O. J. Culpepper, B. C. Gardner, T. R. Bennett. Calhoun Will Give Park 'About 50 Majority. Arlington, Ga., Sept. 6, 1916.— Judge Park will carry Calhoun county by fifty to one hundred majority, depending upon the size of the vote polled which will be small. Judge Cox is gaining ground every day in the county. Erie B. Askew, Baker For Cox by Small Majority. Newton, Ga., Sept. 6, 1916.— From the best information ob tained from the most conserva tive and authoritative sources, it seems that Baker county will go forjudge Cox by a small major ity. Cox sentiment is growing fast in this county and I am sure that by election day the major ity will be larger than now ap pears. I have been carefully gather ing information from impartial sources from all over the district and I add here to my original esti mate of 1200 majority for Cox in the whole district. Benton Odom. Thomas For Cox by 500 Majority. Thomasville, Ga., Sept. 6, 1916. Thomas county will give Judge Cox a majority of 500. This esti mate is conservative. The party who furnished the Albany Her ald with statement that Judge Park would carry Thomas has always missed his prophesies in the past by several hundred, and will do so again. H. J. McIntyre, S. W. Davis, J. M. Austin. Cairo, Ga., Sept. 6th, 1916.— Grady county will give Cox a majority of more than 100. If sentiment continues to change in favor of Cox as in the past week the majority will be much lar ger. Walter Wight. Winning Candidate Can Hope For Only Small Majority i n Miller. County Doubtful. Colquitt, Ga., Sept. 6, 1916.— Miller county will be close. If Park carries the county, will not be by larger majority than one hundred. Cox supporters do not conceed Miller to Park. Cox is making splendid gains. If senti ment continues to change, Cox will carry the county. Billie B. Bush, S. E. Tabb, J. E. Lane, J. S. Wilkin, E. S. Rodney. Bainbridge, Ga., Sept. 6.1916. —At the opening of the cam paign it was thought that Con gressman Park would carry the county by an overwhelming ma jority but Judge Cox’s campaign in this county has been one of the most systematic ever waged here and the strength of the congressman has been greatly cut into. The county is now close, fighting ground so to speak, with either one likely to carry it. Impartial observers are constrained to the opinion that the result will be very close with the majority for either not excessive. R. G. Hartsfield, C. S. Hodges. 200 Majority For Cox in Tift. Tifton, Ga., Sept, 6th, 1916.— It is very amusing to notea mes sage published in the Albany Herald, together with others feom over the district, that Con gressman Park will carry Tift. Our honest opinion is that Judge Cox will carry Tift county by at least 200 majority. We believe that election day will prove this to be true. J. ’M. Shaw, E. E. Slack, [Adv.] T. J. Parker. Decatur in Doubt—Indica tions Point to Small Majority For Either Candidate.
