BETHEL DOTS The farmers of this section have joinec the "Saving Club” and are saving all the hay they can now. Rev. W. R. Howell preached his farewell sermon at Bethel Sunday. We pray for him • the richest blessing and God speed in his future work. E. J. Wilson and wife visited R. L. Campbell and wife Sunday. School opened here Monday morning with Prot. Smith as principal and Miss Brown as as sistant. They enrolled fifty-four pupils and quite a number of patrons attended the opening. Let us all pull together and make this a banner year for “old Bethel” Mr. and Mrs. E. J. -Wilson en tertained a number of friends with a purlieu supper Thursday night. All present seemed to enjoy it. RECOVERY NEWS Mrs. Charlie Wilson has been on the sick list but is improving now. Rev. Jordan filled his regular appointment here Sunday p. m. He preached a very interesting sermon and we are very sorry that Ihe could not be with us Sunday night in our little exer cises. Our school opened three weeks ago with Misses Eunice Sims and Marilena Newmans as the teaehers. Everybody is well pleased with them. Mrs. Vanlandingham and her siSter, Miss Bertha Gholson of Chattahoochee spent last week with their sister Mrs. Marshall Whigham. Mrs. Marshall Whigham at tended court in Bainbridge last week. Leon Gray was very ill part of last week, but we are glad to say he is able to be up. Miss Mary Gholson of Savan nah is visiting friends and re latives here. P. S. McGlamery and wife en tertained quite a number of friends Friday night. All report a nice time. Mrs. J. Wilson and children spent Saturday night and Sunday with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Will Martin. Quite a number from this com munity attended the wedding at Eldorendo Sunday night. Mr. Arthur Shaw returned home last week accompained by his sister Mrs. R. G. Gardner. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Powell entertained Saturday night in honor of their guests Misses Cornelia Barber and Allie Ken drick. Those present were Misses Ruby and Fannie Mae Duke, Maud McGlamery and Arrie Hatcher, Messers Carl McGlam ery, Allen Duke and Idus Camp bell. They served as refresh ments ice cream and cake. The Bethel church will meet immediately after Sunday School next Sunday morning for the purpose of electing a pastor for the following year. Mrs. Malilda Tully is visiting her neice Mrs. J. T. Wilson. We are always glad to have “Aunt Tilda” with us. Mr. Gordon Whigham of Bain bridge spent Sunday with home folks. We are always glad to have him with us at our Sunday school as he used to be our Secretary. The execises at the church Sunday night were enjoyed by all who attended. Mrs. Shefleld who has been at Mr. S. P. Grays for a while left Sunday. Miss Lillian Gray called on Miss Mary Spear for a while one afternoon this week. Mr. Montie Whiddon took Miss Lillian Gray home Sunday night.
