Mrs. C. J. Eagerton died
Wednesday night at her home
near Brinson. Although this good
woman had for five long years
been a sufferer from tuberculo
ses, the community was tlnpre
pared for the sad news of her
death. All her life she had
been a member of the Metho
dist church and to her church
ar.d its interest she was always
loyal and faithful.
Her funeral was conducted at
the cemetery by her pastor Rev.
F. L. Stokes assisted by a former
pastor Rev. W. C. Jones of
Cairo. Quite a large crowd was
present to pay their last tri
bute to a good woman who for
a score of years and more had
been their true and tried friend.
Mrs. Eagerton leaves a hus
band, three sons and tour
daughters to mourn the loss of
one whose place in the family
circle can never be filled. The
beauty of the character of the
mother is reflected in the stal
wart sons and daughters who
will ever call blessed the mem
ory of the mother they have re
cently lost.

-rotects our buildings from the violence of storms; success-*
ully resists the attacks of rain, hail, sleet and snow; is
unaffected by the sharp assaults of frost, and the withering fire
of mid-summer sun. It even withstands the ravages of time,
for CERTAIN-TEED Roofing is guaranteed for 5, 10 or 15
years, according to ply (1, 2 or 3). Experience proves that
it will out-last tne period of guarantee.
The long life of CERTAIN-TEED is due to the fact that it
docs not dry out, as ordinary roofing does.' This is because it is
made of the best quality roofing felt, thoroughly saturated with
General’s Board of
a blend of soft asphalts—the formula of the 1
Expert Chemists. T his soft saturation is then covered with a
coating of a harder blend of asphalts, whichprevents the drying-
out process, and keeps CERTAIN-TEED impervious to the
elements for years after the harder, drier kinds of roofing have
dried out ana gone.
CERTAIN-TEED is made in rolls; also in slate-surfaced
shingles. There is a type of CERTAIN-TEED Roofing for
every kind of building, with flat or pitched roofs, from the
largest sky-scraper to the smallest, residence or out-building.
CERTAIN-TEED is sold by responsible dealers all over the
world, at reasonable prices. Investigate it before you decide on
any type of roof.

CELEBRATES EIGHTY
FIFTH ANNIVE
Aged Atlanta Woman
Says She Wants Every
body to Know That She
Now Feels Young and
Again.
T will be eighty-five years old
tomorrow and I wantjto celebrate
my birthday by letting the whole
world know what Tanlac has
done for me,” said Mrs. Ma-
linda Meaders, who is one
of Atlanta’s oldest and most
highly respected residents. Mrs.
Meaders lives at' 231 Stewart
Ave., but she had gone to the
home of her daughter, Mrs
Trouton, at 425 Whitehall, to
celebrate the happy occasion,
and it was there that Dr. E. B.
Elder called at her request.
An unusual feature of the oc
casion was the fact that three
generations were present to wit
ness the signing of this most
unusual and enteresting state
ment—Mrs. Meaders signing a
a written recital of the facts
and her daughter and grandson
J. C. Meaders, signing as wit
ness.
“Yes,” said the old lady, “I
am finishing up my eighy-fourth
year and tomorrow, February
17, I will eighty-five years old,
as I was born February 17, 1831
and I have lived to see Atlanta
grow to a big city and have seen
many wonderful things brought
about right here in Georgia.
“I haven’t been in very good
health for nearly five years and
have felt bad most of the time.
I was sick and nerveous and had
bad stomach trouble. My di
gestion was poor and. I could
not enjoy my meals as I used
to After eating I-would feel
uncomfortable and have palpita
tion of the heart, and it would
be hard for me to get my breath.
Sometimes I would have awful
headaches and dizzy spells.
‘T seemed to get weaker all
the time. I got very thin and
felt that I was going down hill
radidly. This was the way 1
felt when they got Tanlac for
me, and I feel so much better
that I want everybedy to know
about it. I could see all the
difference in the world in my
condition after I had finished
the first bottle.
‘I have now taken three
bottles altogether and feel as
well and happy as I did when I
was a young girl. My appetite is
just splendid now and I erjoy
my meals and gaining in weight.
I feel so much stronger. I can
now go about anywhere I want
to and can sleep good at night.
It is one of the best' m edicines I
have ever taken in all my life
and I want to tell suffering
people about it.”
