m Like getting back home lor Thanksgiving— they satisfy! Thanksgiving with the old folks at home—it does satisfy! For your smoking, Chesterfields do the same thing—they satisfy I But Chesterfields are MILD, too — that’s the wonder of it. Don’t expect this new cigarette enjoyment (satisfy, yet mild) from any cigarette but Chesterfields, be cause no cigarette maker can copy the Chesterfield blend—an entirely new combination of tobaccos and the biggest discovery in cigarette making in 20 years. ffujyifhiMiftbS-tlaSacco Ok. •'Give me a package of those cigarettes that SA TISFY." 10 for 5c Also packed 20 for 1 Ob THE TICK BUSINESS Much has been said about the eradication of the tick and it seems that most people are not taking it serious but it is about time our folks did wake up to this business. Just the past week prominent cattle dealers were notified that their cattle could not be placed on exhi bition at the Montgomery Fair unless they obeyed the laws of the Federal and State quaran tine and stayed in the station of the government for fourteen days. Now we have some that are opposed to the tick eradication movement and some that are in tavor of it. It has reached a rancorous stage but if all our cattle and breed are to be shut out of the markets because of our non-belief in the eradica tion movement we had better get in line to save our markets if for no other season. Sewerage amd good roads had to be ramm ed down the throats of the people and everybody knows that this is true and there is no need to say they were not. Now the wise acres may not know but that some blessings may be in store for us in the tick business. At least our markets are in volved in it. Cheap and petty politics have crept into this busi ness and it is a pity. The very men who fight the tick move ment hardest are the very men who bellow for markets and there you are. The writer remembers as young as he is, when men threatened to resist with shot guns the quarantines against yellow fever and now no man least he be an idiot sure enough doubts that wisdom displayed in that day and time There is one thing sure and certain, whether you believe in it or not if the BUYING ELEMENT will not have your cattle unless they ffVliSS the number of cups in a pound the best coffee yjoujever drank. LAWNS There has been innumberable complaints by the citizens of the city on the hogs destroying the yards in the city. We have an impounding law but it seems that the past week has been one of awful destruction to the yards. It looks mighty hard for a beautiful flower yard that has cost hours of labor and many dollars should be destroyed in one night by a two dollar hog. There is just reason for the com plaint. Some of the citizens have become so indigant that they threaten to shoot a few hogs and they wiH not be blam ed very much. The men that own hogs should make an effort to either keep them up or not have anything to say when some indignant citizen kills one. If the council will quit this foolish practice of refund ing impounding fees for hogs and cows as is shown on their monthly statements from time to time and if the Mayor and council will bear down on that ordinance and see that it is en forced perhaps some of the yards will be protected. We have no desire to criticise anyone un fairly but there is something in this matter that is in need of attention. When you send your clothes to F. A.
