In honor of Miss Ruth Hines who left on Thursday for her home in Jacksonville after spending the summer with her grand mother Mrs. C. Newsome. Those invited were: Misses Elinor Brooks, Miriam McLellan, Estell Dorsey, Ruth Hines, Floreed Randell of Madison, and Cora Clark, Messrs. Owen Fields, Battle, Joe Solina, A. C. Soule, Lloyd Rich. The first cane grinding of the season was enjoyed Wednesday evening when a party of fourteen went to Brinson as the guests of Mr. Carlile Holder. His guests were: Misses Cecil Harrell, Katherine Chestnut, Mable Mud- dock, Jewel Smith, Jesse Whaite of Cyrene, Anna Smith, Louise Tucker, and Nelle Whaite, Messrs. Herbert Harrell, Charlie Chestnut, Willie Kwilecki, Fred White and Ralph Kwilecki. Mrs. M. T, Sollar of Lanark, Fla., was honor guest at a bridge party Wednesday afternoon given by Mrs. H. S. Richardson. Mrs. Walter Perry won first prize and Mrs. Sollar was presented with the guest prize. Those playing were: Mesdames E. J. Perry, W. H. Krause, Gordon Chason, S. S. Brinson, Walter Perry, and Mrs. Sollar and Miss Stella Nussbaum. The Junior Aid gave a large reception at the home of Mrs. Parker Wednesday afternoon, all other church societies were invited. Ala., after a pleasant visit to her daughter Mrs. Raland Bower. Mrs. Herman McArthur will arrive this week to be the guest of her parents Dr. and Mrs. J. D. Chason, until after the Chason- Bell wedding, which takes place on the 25th, of this month. Miss Floreed Randell who has been the attractive and popular guest of her si9ter Mrs. S. S. Brinson for the summer, return ed to her home in Madison, Fla., on Tuesday. Miss Daisey Binford of Phili- delphia, Penn., is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Gurley for two weeks.
