If the fire bell should ring would you run and stop it or go and help put out the fire? It is j much the same way with a , cough. A cough is a danger sig- | nal as much as a fire bell. You should no more try to suppress ! it than to stop a fire bell when g it is ringing, but should cure the I {disease that causes the cough- ling. This can nearly always be 11 done by taking Chamberlain’s ; Cough Remedy. Many have used it with the most beneficial re sults. It is especially valuable 1 for the persistent cough that so often follows a bad cold or an : attack ot the grip. Mrs. Thomas 1 Beeching, Andrews, Ind., writes: I “During the winter my hushand | takes cold easily and coughs and coughs. Chamberlan’s Cough Remedy is the best medicine for breaking up these attacks and you cannot get him to take any other.” Obtainable everywhere. ORIOti LODGE no. 8 F. & A. M. Fraizer, a well known colored resident of Valdosta, and the founder of the colored orphan’ home in the northern part of the city, has just return ed from an extensive trip through the Northern and Mibdle Atlantic states, He brings a message to the negroes of the SC'Jth to remain in this section and he urges them to pay no at tention ic the alluring tales told them by the labor agents who are seeking to get them in North ern states. Frazier says he has been in in nine states since leaving this city. He says he has seen a great many negroes • who have left the south for that section. He reports that all who are able to come back are arranging to do so while many who went away on free tickets want to come home, but they have not the money with which to purchase tickets. Frazier reports a conversation with one of the officials of the Pennsylvania railroad in which this man told him it was en tirely too cold in Pennsplvania and other states of that section for the negro. Fraizer says this man told him that the negroes were unable to work about halt of the time in the winter. He says that while it is true the wages are higher the decreased time and increases time and in creased cost ot living make the situation of negroes in the north much inferior to that of those who live in the south. Fraizer says that a great many leaders, or so-called leaders of the colored , people are urging them to go north. He says that j these leaders are doing harm to the people of their own race. He points out that often that they are paid labors agents who are posing as ones who want to help the negro. He de nounces the ones who are urg ing the negroes to go north as persons who have not the best interests of the negro at heart. Fraizer is urgent in his recommendations that the negro in the south, for as he says, the Southern white man is the best friend that the nergo ever had, Fraizer reports splendid suc cess during his trip north in che enterest of his orphan’s home.
