AN UNIQUE IDEA
The new Superintendent, Mr. R. L.
Boland, of the Methodist Sunday
school, aroused the keenest interest
Sunday morning when he anounced
that he was going to give a report of
his Stock taking of the Sunday school.
The littlest tots, even, sat quiet and
attentive as Mr. Boland, in a clear
voice and with concise words and
figures read his report which is as
follows: out of a total church mem
bership of 500, the Sunday school has
membership of 300 and present out
of this number were 129. Class 1 had
present, 5; 2-7; 3-5; 4-2; 5-5; 6-11;
7-10; 8-9; 9-10; 11-9; 12-13; 13-7;
GO FORWARD-3 and Bible-14.
Financial condition, good, paid up
to April, collection for tile morning,
$6.81.

The program was very short. Due

The collection of books fbr the
public schools was discussed and plans
made for their collection on Tuesday
morning, the 11th from 10 to 12.
And the Art Exhibit for the next
meeting with Mrs. J. M. Simmons,
January 18th, means anything old or
new that is of value, beauty, interest.

SUFFER LITTLE CHILDREN AND
FORBID THEM NOT TO COME
UNTO ME
Mrs. W. P. Robinson, children-EIea-
nor and Billee, accompanied by her
mother, Mrs. S. T. Philpot, left Tues
day noon, December 28th, with the
body of her little son, Thomas, for
Hampton, Virginia, where the re
mains were laid to rest.
The coming to Bainbridge on the
15th of October to visit relatives and
in the hope of better health for her
lovely baby, Mrs. Robinson was a piq
uant and happy looking little moth
er. At first the little fellow seemed
rapidly to improve, then complications
then better, then worse till the weary,
anxious days resulted in his death of
bronchitis, after his first birthday on
the seventh of December.
Mrs. Robinson has relatives and
many friends here who love and ad
mire her and who sympathize most
deeply with her in the lonely return.
Miss Lois Jordan was the capable
little hostess for her Bridge Club on
Thursday afternoon, December twen
ty third.
Christmas evergreens, Poinsettas
and Narcissi,i beautifully decorated
the rooms for the occasion. At the
conclusion of the game an attractive
course of congelaed salad was served
and a lovely Powder Puff fell to Miss
Sade DosVerges for top score, while
Mrs. Clarence Everett was given a
box of stationery for her delightful
couresies to the club.
Other than the members, Miss Jor
dan had for her guests the Misses
Wicker, Hooten, Wagoner, Bettie Sue
Lane, Winifred Harrison, Christine
Martin and Mesdamcs Castleberry
and Everett.
HOLIDAY SEASON VERY GAY

ning opened the weeks social affairs

with a home of the pleasantest hospi
tality, always has a delightful set
ting for his parties and this one had
un added charm by its profusion of
Christmas greens and flowers.
At the conclusion of dancing, Mr.
Gurley .assisted by Mr. and Mrs
Dwight Gurley, served gelatine, cakes
and fruits.
Those present were: Misses Wicker,
DesVerges, Hooten, Wagoner, Alice

LEAP YEAR PARTY
