DRUG STORE PARTY FOR
VISITORS
Miss Francis Wagoner was the
pretty hostess for the visiting young
ladies Monday morning with a drug
store party. Misses Conradi, Jordan
and Morgan were the honorees and
the drinks were served at Over
street’s. Those present, were the Miss
es Agnes Moore, Emmie Floyd, Eva
Floyd, Battle, Huff, Pearl Floyd,
DcsVerges, Reid, Morgan, Hooten,
Williams, Garrett, Halstead, and Mes
dames Overstreet, Willis, Conger,
Rich, Castleberry, Bruton and Milton.

PICNIC
One of the most enjoyable picnics
of the season was given by Miss An
nie Davis of Eldorendo, last Thursday
afternoon at Smith’s Ford on Spring
Creek. A delightful swim was fol
lowed by gleeful frolicking and a mo 5 t
bountiful repast.
Those enjoying Miss Davis’ hospi
tality were: Mesdames E. E. Fenn and
Gordon Davis, Misses Rannie Grif-
finfi Christine Martin and Leona
Haire, Messrs. L. E. Fenn.
John L. Davis, Fred Drake, Hardy
Strickland, Joe Lashlcy and Geise Me-
Gahee.
Miss Martha Oliff is the guest of
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Castleberry. Mbs
Oliff has many friends in Bainbridge,
who are always glad to see her.
Lumber trade outlook better in
South Georgia.
The regular monthly meeting of the
Woman’s Missionary Society of the
Methodist church was held in the
church Monday afternoon. Mrs. L.
E. Fenn, of Circle No. 2, led the de
votional.
The Reverend Mr. Sams will preach
in the Episcopal church Sunday morn
ing at 11 o’clock.
Friends of Glenn Holder are glad
to know of his improvement.
Messrs. Ralph Kwilecki, Giles Toole,
Bernard Dukes and A. C. Soule left

VISITORS
Miss Francis Wagoner was the hos
tess for her house guest, Miss Con-
radi, of Tallahassee, Miss Jordan, of
Savannah and Miss Morgan, of Cuth-
iiert. with a swimming party at
Rhodes Ferry, on Spring Creek last
Saturday afternoon and evening.
After the delie/htful swim, Miss
Wagoner served an elaborate supper,
which was followed with a small
dance. Mesdames Guy Overstreet and
Jack Castleberry were the chaperones
and others present were: Misses Wil
liams, Hooten, Pearl Floyd, Coleman,
and Messrs. Ellington Willis, Jack
Simmons, Ramsey Simmons, Linton
Baggs, Tom Smith, Whitchard and
Soule.
Irvin Cobb wrote the titles for
Peck’s Bad Boy, a very popular photo
play featuring Jackie Coogan. He
just knocked around a day with Jack
ie, the bright youngster and thereby
cot all the material he wanted for
those clever titles.
Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Shackleford,
Miss Hooten, Mrs. Everett and Mes
srs. Eugene Mayes and Austin enjoyed
a motor trip to Albany Sunday.
Betty Blythe, in her characteriza
tion of the “Queen of Sheba” has
made such a hit that the President
and Mrs. Harding have expressed a
desire to meet the movie actress and

and be away for a period of ten
days.
Miss Elizabeth Conradi, of Talla
hassee, is the guest of Miss Wagoner.
Mrs. John T. McClendon left Mon
day night for a visit to Huntsville,
Ala.
Miss Conradi, who has been the
popular house guest of Miss Wag
oner, returned to her home in Tal
lahassee Tuesday morning.
Miss Nettie Scott and Mrs. J. M.
iScott are enjoying their stay at
White Sulphur Springs, Fla.
Mrs. D. L. Shackleford and chil
dren have returned from Lanark.
Mrs. R. B. Coleman and Miss Cole
man left Sunday for Atlanta.

Messrs. Marx Gaines and Warren
Langston have returned from a visit
to Mr. and Mrs. Fryer at Beacon
Hill. While there a cargo of fine
liquors valued at 30,000 afforded a
big sight for the boys. The engine
of the ship had to be repaired and
while in dock the news spread and
much of the whisky was stolen. It
was en route to New Orleans.
Mrs. G. W. Ferrill, of Thomasville,
will pass through Bainbridge Satur
day en route to Chicago, where she
will be the guest of her brother, Mr.
Walter Philpot, for the month of
August.
