Americus Sinking Fund
Is Short Over $45,000
Sabina, Ohio. — “I took Lydia E. Pink-
ham's Vegetable Compound for weak*
and irregulari
ty. I was weak and
nervous .arid could
hardly stand on my
feet long enough to
cook a meal. I was
this way for about a
P __ year and had tried
fliJ several medicines
ml and had a physician,
"I but to no avail. iy
sister was taking
your medicine and
finally induced me to
try it. I now feel line and can do my
housework without any trouble at all.
You can use thi* letter for the sake of
others if you wish. ” Mrs. WELDON G.
Hatfield, R. R. 3, Sabina, Ohio.
Housewives make a great mistake in
allowing themselves to become ho weak
and nervous that it is well-nigh impos
sible for them to attend to their neces
sary household duties.
Lydia E. Pinkham’s Vegetable Com
pound should be taken when you first
notice such symptoms as nervousness,
backache, weakness and irregularity. It
will help you and prevent* more serious
trouble. Give it a fair trial. It surely
helped Mrs. Hatfield, justas ithas many,
many other women.
Americus, Ga., May 13.—The sink
ing fun^ of Americus, which was
created to provide for the retirement
of municipal bonds, shows a deficit
of more than $45,000, according to
the report of auditors who have just
completed checking the accounts of
City Clerk and Treasurer, E. J. Eld-
ridge. The audit reveals that where
as a total of $45,007.31 is due the
sinking fund, it has, in realty, a cash
balance of only $55.74.
The report says this amount in
cludes an unpaid balance of the pro-
poi tion of ad valorem taxes levied
for this purpose, plus $018,535.79
hown on a previous audit report, and
don’t include $2,885 shown on that re
port as a loan, or $3850.05 shown as
pro rata share of unpaiu taxes, as
same was not recorded in the Bond
Commission record.
The audit discloses uncollected luxe,
for the last eight years amounting
to $70,739.1M, of which $4,323 is listed
as doubtful, leaving a balance of $00,-
410.10. This total is carried in the
statement as an asset.

I In view of the hesitancy displayed by

Is your wife “all tired out” and
cross and irritable much of the time?
Do the children ^‘bother her to death"
every day, and do the ordinary house
hold tasks that she formerly per
formed with ease seem now to overtax
her? In other words, do you often
come home to a house of trouble in
stead of a house of joy and hapiness ?
If your answer is “yes” to these
pointed questions, don’t blame your
wife until she has taken Gude’s Pepto-
Mangan with her meals for a few
weeks. She is simply run-down and
nervous and needs the kind of iron
that she will get in Gude’s Pepto-
mangan to give her more vitality and
strength. For thirty years doctors
have recommended Gude’s Pepto-Man-
gan as a first-class building-up tonic.
