While the movement has mg yet aksumed organised proportions it i» being given careful consideration bp a number of leading citiMna, and it is probable that an native organisation campaign wifi be undertaken in the near future. That Bainbridge badly needs an or ganization of this kind, whera the young men of the city may get the benefits of athletic training, and var ious other forms of recreation, under the proper moral influence and guid ance, is a fact known and realised by these interested in the welfare of its future citizens and it is certain that the Y. The affair was one of the most enjoyable events of the kind ever held at that popular resort, despite the showers, which at various times sent the crowds scurrying to shelter. The attendance was not as large as was expected, and prepared for, on account of the weather, but thousands were present from all parts of this section, and the picnic was a success ful one from every standpoint. Danc ing, bathing and fishing were among the amusements participated in both before and after the picnic dinner. In Bainbridge the day passed quiet- Jy, with the streets practically de serted throughout the day. A large BREACHES TO A LARGE AND^AP Help soon reached the scene, and the injured men were rushed to River side-hospital for medical attention. From the first*it was known that Mr. Merritt had sustained fatal injuries, and his death had been momentarily expected. The dead man leaves a wife and several children. The accident is one of the worst automobile wrecks that has occurred in the vicinity of this city in some time, and is greatly deplored by the friends and acquaintances of the vic tim*. There Is already considerable inter est in the proposition, and a great deal of quiet but effective work ha» been done, with the result that it. is known that the community sentiment is favorable and that the movement will he given material support when it is formally launched.
