deliver an address at the county

worth hearing. He is in Georgia
for a brief vacation and, as usual,

Hon. Clifford Walker, of Monroe,
Walton county, former attorney
general of Georgia, and now a can
didate for Governor, was in the
city Monday in the interests of his
candidacy.
Mr. Walker, it will be remember
ed was a candidate for governor
in the last election, making a very
creditable race. He is making an
active canvass of the state, and ex
pects to visit every part of Geor
gia before the date of the pri
mary.
During his stay in Bainbridge,
Mr. Walker was cordially greeted
by his local friends, and while he
made no public address he saw a
great many of the voters of the
county. He expressed himself ns
being much encouraged over the
outlook, and says that he is be
ing given pedges of support in all
parts of the state.

The most exciting tournament yet
held on the links of the Bainbridge
Country Club enme off Thursday after
noon with a large gallery watching
the game. Two weeks ago the men'
offered the ladies a silver cup for the
best two out of three games, Mrs. T.
Sam Hawes, winner for the ladies
and Jack Bower, Jr., a high school
boy, won on the men's game. This
