Everybody is about finished gath

ed, peanuts picked and corn gathered
looking forward to pork and

Sure was sorry to hear of Sena-!
tor Watson’s death. He was one of
Georgia’s greatest men, and a man
everybody loved, politically and in
other ways.
Messrs. Jason Brinson and Berry
Sellers were badly hurt Saturday
night when the car in which they
were riding collided with the car of
Mr, Emory Harrell. They were rush
ed to Bainbridge and given medical
attention. The Ford in which the
former were riding was completely
torn up. Both parties had very nar
row escapes.
This community was shocked Mon
day when the news came that Mrs.
Ellen Tyson had passed away. Mrs.
Tyson was about sixty-five years of
age, and was loved by everybody who
knew her. She had been in bad j
health for about five weeks, but was
not seriously sick until Sunday morn
ing, when she grew worse, the end
coming Sunday night.
Mrs. Tyson became a member of
the Christian church about forty-five
years ago,later joining the Methodist
church, and again the Christian
church at Oak Grove, where she was
a faithful member.
She leaves three brothers, Messrs.
Tom, Henry and Dan Day, and one
daughter, Mrs. Emmett Johnson, be
sides a host of other relatives and
friends, to mourn her loss. The re
mains were laid to rest in the Mt,
Pleasant cemetery. Rev. C. O. Sal
ter spoke words of comfort to the be
reaved.
Quite a large crowd attended the

A heated rebuttal was given, but
after a long stay the judges, Messrs
Watson Norris, Roy Buwum and
Johnnie Powell, decided in favor of
the affirmative.
Mr. Carter Martin accompanied
Mr. Andrew Avery home from Pine
Hill Friday, returing Saturday morn
ing.
Mr. David Thompson entertained
the young people of the community
with an ice cream supper and birth
day party. He has just passed his
twenty-first year. Plenty of ice
cream and cake were served, and ev
erybody enjoyed themselves to the
utmost.
Mr. J. W. Norris is spending the
week with his daughter, Mrs. Har
man Gainous, of near Faeeville.
Mr. Byron Salter and family of
Bainbridge were here Sunday after
noon.
Messrs. David Thompson and John
nie Brinson attended church at Mt.
Pleasant Sunday night.
A large crowd of young pepole of
this community, chaperoned by Mes-
dames Thompson and Salter, rode out
to the Negro church at Mt. Table
Saturday night to hear the negro
services at three funerals.
Don’t forget the Sunday School at
Oak Grove.
