No Wonder He Was C razy. Miyht Clio]) Them l’}>
A writer in tlm Port Holland
Mirror, a newspaper published by
luontica at (irahamtown, South
Africa, gives the following reasons
for his detention:
“I met a young widow with a
grown step-daughter and the wid
ow married me. Then my father,
who was a widower, met my step
daughter and married her. That
made mv wife the mother-in-law
of her father-m law, and made
my step-daughter my mother and
my father my step-son. Then my
step-mother, the step-daughter of
my wife, had a son. Thai boy
was of course, my brother, be
cause he was my father's son. He
was also the son of my wife's step
daughter, and therefore her
grandson. That made me grand
father to mv step mother. Then
my wife had a son. My mother-
in-law, the step-sister of my son,
is also his grandmother, because
he is her step-son’s child. My
father is the brother-in-law of my
child, because his step-sister is
my wife. 1 am t he brother of
my own son, who is also the child
of my step-grandmother. I am
mother’s brother-in-law, my wife
is my own child’s aunt, my son is
my father’s nephew, and I am my
own grandfather.”
Luck and Labor.
If the boy who exclaims “Just
my luck!” were truthful he would
say “Just my laziness!” or “Just
my inattention!”
Luck is waiting for something to
turn up.
Labor, with keen eyes and
strong will, vdll turn up some
thing.
Lnek lies in bed and wishes the
postman would bring him news of
a legacy.
Labor turns out at t! o’clock and
with a busy pen or ringing ham
mer lays the foundation of a com
petcnce.
Luck whines; labor whistles.
Luck relies on chances, labor on
character.
Luck slips down to indigence;
labor strides upward to independ
ence.—Christian Advocate.

A [Merchant Cured After Having Given Up Hope.
Foley & Co., Chicago.
Gentlemen:—I was afflicted with Kidney and
Bladder trouble for six years and had tried numerous
preparations without getting any relief and had given
up hope of ever being cured when FOLEY’S KIDNEY
CUKE was recommended to me. After using one
bottle I could feel the effect of it, and after taking
six fifty-cent bottles, I was cured of Kidney and
Bladder trouble and have not felt so well for the past
twenty, years and I owe it to FOLEY’S KIDNEY
CURE. James Smith, Bentons Ferry, W. Va.

R. A. Cray, J.P., of Oakville, Ind., writes: —
“Most of the time for ten years I was confined to my
bed with some disease of the kidneys. It was so
severe I could not move part of the time. I consulted
the best medical skill available, but got no relief until
FOLEY’S KIDNEY CURE was recommended to me.
I am grateful to be able to say that it entirely cured me.”

“1 feel it is my duty to let you know that
your medicines have cured mv little girl of
nine, of spasms. She commenced having them
at the ajfo of three. Our family doctor said
she would outgrow them but she did not.
We took her to another physician who said
her trouble was epileptic fits in a mild form,
lie did her no good either. She was so
nervous she could hardly walk. As I had
already used Dr. Miles’ Nervine and found
it a good remedy for myself I commenced
giving it to my child. I gave her in all ten
bottles of the Nervine and one of the Blood
Purifier. That was over two years ago and
she has not had an attack since we com
menced the treatment. She is no longer
troubled with nervousness and we consider
her permanently cured. I enclose her pic
ture. My mother-in-law lost her reason and
was insane for three months from the effects
of LaGrippe. Six bottles of Dr. Miles’ Ner
vine cured her. My sister has also taken it
for sick headache with good results. We all
thank you very much fur your good medi
cines and kind advice. 1 don’t think there
is any other medicine half so good. 1 send
