i They are now at work in the up

Mountain mine. The directors
will have a meeting here on the
120th, at which time some new
j plans may bo adopted. Those ac
i quainted with this mine have tho
! utmost confidence in its paying
i when properly worked. We hoard
an old miner say not long ago that
if ho had a lease on it he was confi
dent that he could make it pay.
A change has recently been
made down at the lower Etowah
or Josephine mine. Mr. Frazee is
out and Messrs. Kiser and Van-
syckle, of New York, are in
charge of the mine. Those ac
quainted with them say that they
are fiuc gentlemen and feel that
the success of tho Etowah under
their management is assured. They
do not wish to create a boom
for tho sale of stock but are going
to put the water up on tho hill
where it is needed and operate the
mine in a business like way.
Wo understand that the capital
ists who visited the McAfee-Lind
last week are well pleased with the
outlook at this mine. When late
ly operated steam power was us
ed. This was found to be very ex
pensive on account of the quantity
of wood and the two engineers, one
during the day at the oilier at
night. We understand that the
management desires to dispense
\Vith tho use of steam and aro fig
uring on electricity and may se
cure the power from the Calhoun.
Other big improvements will be
made at this mine.
On tho night of the 28d of De

convict, was released.

Periodic
Pains.
Dr. Miles’ Anti-Pain Pills
are a most remarkable remedy
for the relief of periodic pains,
backache, nervous or sick head
ache, or any of the distress
ing aches and pains that cause
women so much suffering.
As pain is weakening, and
leaves the system in an ex
hausted condition, it is wrong
to suffer a moment longer than
necessary, and you should take
the Anti-Pain Pills on first in
dication of an attack.
If taken as directed you may
have entire confidence in their
effectiveness, as well as in the
fact that they will leave no dis
agreeable after-effects.
They contain no morphine,
Opium, chloral, cocaine or other
dangerous drugs.
“For a Ion* time I liave suffered
greatly with spells of bnekache, that
seem almost more than I can endure.
These attacks come on every month,
and last two or three days. I have
never been able to get anything that
would give me much relief until I be-
began the use of Dr. Miles' Anti-Fain
Fils, and they always relieve me In a
short time. My sister, who suffers
the same way, has used them with
the same results.” MRS. PARK,
