That’s too much money to change

money. Wc forbid the Chinaman

are right, brother. It is very in-
consistant to forbid Chinamen to
reside no where on our land and
then ask the Lord to give them a
front seat with us in heaven. Our
actions here may cause us to be
put on the back seat up there.

We will now give von a clip
ping from t lie Wise County Mes-
senge, published nt Decatur, Tex
as, concerning his trial there as
follows:
“Rev. Roy K. Davis, Singer
and Masher, Goes to Prison, Drew
a juiy, verdict of swindling and
was given a two years sentence by
the District court. ”
The above tells the story. As
t lie a: t icle is too long for us to
publish all we will give the wind
ing up of the article :
“Thus is closed, for a time at
least, a rather checkered and in
teresting career of Roy. E Davis.
His activities as a minister, public i
dekater. singing school teacher,
Heart smasher and Ladies man
have ceased for a season. For some
years he served East Texas church
es us Pastor, and it was during his
residence in this section that he
became acquainted with the Girl
who was his undoing in Georgia.
The Lady recognized the Prof.
Lon Davis in Georgia, as the man
she had known in Texas as Rev.
Roy E. Davis. She remembered
that he had a wife and children in
Texas so her suspicious were
aroused and she at once began the
enquiry which brought the thriv
ing and handsome singing school
teacher to the bar of justice. Sher
iff Mann slates that upon leaving
Texas, Davis deserted his'wife and
three children, who now reside in
East Texas; and married a young
Lady in Georgia. Davis is uaid
to be a forceful speaker and very
intelligent. His handsome open
countenance gives the impression
of inuocense while bis heavy au
burn hair adds to his striking ap
pearance, and it is little wonder
that he has been able to favorably
impress the public wherever he
goes.”
The above shows the kind of a
hypocrite we have had with tis,
one with two living wives who
was run away from two Georgia
towns on account of his bad con
duct, coming here claiming to be a
child of God, with a bihle, song
book and a bottle of oil, able to
heal the sick and save souls,
using the pulpit as a shield for his
meanness, proposing to have a
great temple built in Dahlonega,
taking up frequent collections and
receiving food from some like he
was a little bird, nevertheless lie
stood up in the pulpit at the Pen
tecost church 011 Sunday night,
where lie had often been aud men
tioned the misfortunes of some of
our best citizens because they be
