No Government Break
in Republic's History
An Interregnum is a break in the
continuity of government authority; a
period during which tl 10 functions of
government are suspended or vested
in a temporary executive. Such u
condition, says the Pathfinder Maga
zine, has never existed In the Amer
ican government since Washington as
sumed the Presidency under the Con
stitution. In each case when the
President inis riled he has. been suc
ceeded immediately by the vice presi

Some people speak of March 4,
3819, as an interregnum. The Const!

Kitty showed up on the La Shier

the robin became puls almost imme

the cat’s hack and enjoys a ride
around the house or u quiet perch
while Tubby sleeps.
The duck Is a comparative new

the duck has separate nccommodu- i

The cat seems proud to draw the
robin around the house on a little
cart built for the 1 purpose. When the
curt Is moved the cat runs to it to
be harnessed. The robin shows no
fear of human' beings, and a whistle
from its master calis It to him. The
bird is delighted with music, showing
especial preference for the xylophone,
although it will perch on a violin bow
when that Instrument Is being played.
