It looks tons like some of those
interested would have their eyes
on the Hightower river for power.
The big dam at vvliat was once
known as Jay, furnished all
the power that was necessary for a
grist mill, saw mill, tannery and
other industries [out there for a
number of years. In those days
such industries bad to be right at
or near the dam. Now a wire can
carry the power to a plant many
miles away from the stream.

The government, and state laws
differing m the use of money du
ring a campaign conflicts consider
ably. Now when a candidate for
President of the United States
in any state makes a race
vast sums of money can be used
aud no statement given as to what
it was spent for. - But when it
comes to a state or county office
in Georgia all the money you
spend during a campaign when
you are a candidate except for
bailiff, has to be reported under
oath so the public can see i f .
Some years back before women got
to voting, yet many of them could

candidate, we struck up with one
of this kind who was very fond of
snuff. She was not concerned in
politics much. But in older to
get the wife interested we told her
if she would get her husnand to
vote for us we would buy her a
nickel box of snuff. So the trade
was nude and it was not long un
til tho husband was just rearing
and snorting for Townsend. This
shows vvliat a wonderful influence
some women have over men. But
lo and behold soon after this the
legislature passed the candidate’s
