The town of Plainvillc, Ga., was almost wiped out by fire a few nights ago. Three ministers In a wreck near Mantfield, Ga., last week. This accident can’t be charged to liquor but mud manufactured by rain and maybe too fast driving over a bad road. Y.hel- chel left Dahlonega, his native home, and located at Anniston, 'Ala., an active young man enjoy ing good health. lie secured a position there as letter car rier, and continuously for thirty- five years he trudged along the streets and sidewalks of that city until the I71I1 day of Novem ber last was retiled on a pension at the age of sixty-seven, with weak legs and in bad health generally. He performed his duties well and will be greatly missed, with much regret as will be seen by the fol lowing letter he received on the 16th nit., from the Postmaster and Postal employees: “We note with sadness that tomorrow forever sep arates you from us so far as being listed as an employee of the office, but we truly hope we shall not be separated in heart and mind. As we recall your years of faithful service side by side with us we come face to face with many pleas ant reminders of happy days to gether, and though we have miss ed you and will continue to do so, we want, to extend congratulations and good wishes for a long, happy and prosperous retirement.
