F. D In the Business Producing Contest which is to close on November 4, 1914. 1. —Contest will be open for entrants until Thursday, July 2, after which date it will close to entrants for all time. Any white person of either sex or age who is a resident of Douglas or Coffee County is entitled to enter and can do so by filling out the following coupon: 2. —Name of the contestant may be entered by the party wishing to contest or by a relative or friend. The entrance coupon above will entitle the entrant to a credit of 2,000 votes in the contest. 3. —Votes will be credited as follows: For each 25c (3 months) subscription, 150; for each 50c (6 months) subscription, 400 votes; for each $1 (1 year) subscription. 1,000 votes; for each $2 (2 year) subscription, 3,000 votes; for each $3 (3 year) subscription, 6,000 votes; for each $5 (5 year) subscription, 10,000 votes; for each dol lar’s worth of job work sent in by contestant, 500 votes; for each dollar’s worth of advertising sent in by the con testant, 1.000 votes. There will be no bonuses offered nor any coupons published giving free votes. DOUGLAS, GEORGIA PROGRESS BUSINESS PRODUCING CONTEST SECOND PRlZE—Wellman Piano way that votes can be obtained is by the contestants themselves securing the business and sending it in direct; except when business is forwarded direct to The Progress from the buyer and the buyer so states the votes may be given to whichever contestant may be named. 4. —No contestant will be allowed Ko withdraw from the race in favor of another contestant; but any contes tant may withdraw and receive commission on the amount of business done at any time during the contest. This withdrawal, however, shall eliminate any further partici pation in the contest by the one withdrawing. 5. —The following prizes will be awarded the contes tants on Wednesday, November 4, or as soon thereafter as it is possible to determine the winners; CAPITAL or Grand Prize. To the contestant receiv ing the greatest number of votes will be given 1 Ford, five-passenger touring car valued at $600.00; said car to be on displav at the Ford Agency in the city of Douglas during the life of the contest, and is to be brand new and not lo have run at all except for the purpose of placing it in the public streets of the city of Douglas for display pur poses. Car to be identical with all Ford 1915 models and guaranteed by the Ford agency in like manner with all the car? they sell. Piano. To the contestant receiving the second high est number of votes will be given 1 Wellman piano, valu ed at $250.00; piano now on display at Tanner’s Pharmacv and guaranteed by Hallett & Davis Piano Co., of Atlanta, Ga„ as having been shipped direct from their factory at Boston. Mass. Said Piano to be tne best made of the kind and to be identical with all the Famous Wellman Pianos made and sold by Hallett & Davis. Diamond Ring. The contestant receiving the third PROCRESS BUSINESS PRODUCING C ONTEST Progress Business Producing Contest Protrress Business Produointr Contest Progress Business Producing Contest largest number of votes shall be entitled to one Diamond Ring valued at $90.00, now on display at Wilson’s Jewel).y Store. Said ring to be mounted at the close of the con test to suit the winner. The diamond is guaranteed gen uine by Wilson’s Jewelry Store, J. R. Wood & Son, of New York City, and the Progress Publishing Co., and to be of the value named. It will be on display at all times dur ing the contest. Gold Watch. The person receiving the fourth larg est number of votes in the contest shall receive a watch, either gentleman’s or ladies’, as the winner may seh.-cf, valued at retail at $25.00. Said two watches now being on display at the store of Messrs. Fielding & Sibbett, where they may be seen at any time during the contest. 6. Any contestant working in the contest not receiv ing sufficient votes to secure one of the above four named prizes, will be paid a commission of ten per cent on the total amount of business sent in to The Progress during the contest. This is a guarantee that no one working in the contest will lose altogether, but that each and every contestant will get either a prize or the commission. 7. —Should any contestant winning a prize, not de sire to retain said prize it may be given to the next high est contestant and the other prizes ranged along with it. The contestant desiring to be relieved of the prize won will, in this event, be paid a commission of ten per cent on the total amount of business done, as heretofore stated. 8. —There will be no votes in the contest except those obtained for actual business done for The Progress and turned in to The Progress. 9. —No person in the employ of The Progress or mem bers of their families shall be allowed to enter the con test. This rule does not apply to correspondents.
