with Quitman of the Dixie league

five games of the season, Jim Burke,
playing with Columbus in the Sally,
has been larruping the old horsehide
in every game since. Jim is not
satisfied with less than two or three
h'ts a day and has boosted his
avereage to the 333 mark, being
third best batter in the league, ac

gan at Athens Friday and by Satur
day night, each team had won a
game. Hostilities will be resumed
