Junior Hostess.
The Juniors of the N. H. S. were
hostess to an afternoon tea given for
the Seniors Friday p. m., April 25,
from 4 until 6. The rooms were
beautifully decorated with American
•beauty roses and ferns. Various
games were enjoyed. Later in the
evening delicious ice cream and
cake was served. Those present

Lewis,' Beatrice Meeks, Ardoth Lloyd,

Commencement Exercises.
The commencement exercises were
held at the first Baptist church April
30th, at 8:30 p. .m The church was
effectively decorated with pretty
flowers and ferns, Louise Dreamland
on the piano by Mrs. Z. V. Hall, while
the Junior girls; Carlva Seymour
land Mary Lindsey; Dorris Anderson

, graduates, Misses Irene Anderson

given by Rev. J. A. Cook. The
Juniors sang a farewell song, then
Rev. H. M. Meeks introduced the
speaker, Hon. David Parker f who
made a splendid address. Mrs. T. P.
I Cartwright sang, “Love’s old sweet
1 song.” The diplomas were then de
livered by Prof. E. M. Thompson, Mrs.
jC. M. Raber made an address to the
i graduates after which, Rev. J. D.
1 Bethune pronounced the benediction.

Mr. Otto Tanner Saturday night and
Sunday.
The many friends of Mr. J. F. Dent
will learn with much sorrow of his
illness because of a bad poison on his
leg. Mr. Dent has been going on
crutches for nearly a week.
Messrs. Rexford and Fletcher Tan
ner entertained a crowd of their boy
friends with a boating trip Sunday
morning.
Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Lewis has as
their dinner guests Sunday Mr. and
Mrs. S. S. Baker and son, Mr. and
Mrs. L. S. Wilcox, all of West Green.
Mr. J. M. Tanner and daughter, Al
lice also, Master C. Baker of West
Green.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Courson, and two
little sons, W. C. and J. B. was the
guest of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Lewis Sun
day afternoon to be at the bedside
of their grandmother.
Miss Naomi Tanner spent the past
week at the home of her aunt, to be
at the bedside of her grand-mother,
Tanner.
Messrs. Joe Day and Walter Richey
were visitors at Sunday school Sun
day afternoon.
Misses Zeda and Ezell Tanner and
Mr. G. J. Baker saw Mr. M. I. Cribb
to the train Sunday afternoon. Mr.
Cribb has accepted a position at
Haynes City, Fla.
Mr. Otto Tanner had as his guest
Sunday morning Messrs. J. F. Dent,
M. I. Cribb, Vernon Cribb and Charlie
Tomlinson, of Douglas.
Several young couples gathered at
the home of Mr. J. F. Bents’ the
fourth and made cream, after having
lots of fun and eating lots of cream
the party went in cars to Salem Sun
day night. Everyone reported a nice
time and plenty’ of cream.
