The Girls club that is being di
rected by Miss Lizzie Buchanan, the
county home demonstration agent,
met at the school house last Friday
P. M., with good attendance. This
is a great help to our town and coun
ty, and all the girls and ladies are
urged to attend these meetings regu
larly.

Donald B. McMillan, who heads the polar expedition which is being financed by the
National Geographic Society, holds his first conference with Lieut. Comdr. R. E-
Byrd, U. S. N., the man in charge of the aerial exploitation of the frozen North. E, F.
McDonald, McMillan’s right hand man, was also on hand for the conference. Com
mander Byrd will command the unit of two planes and eight men which the U. S.
