Mrs. D. D. Newbern, little Dan and
little Miss Carolyn Lewis returned
Saturday from a ten days visit to Pal
metto and Atlanta.
Mrs. R. F. Burch and children re
turned to Eastman last Wednesday af
ter a pleasant visit to Mrs. W. M.
Cook.
Miss Margaret Hurley is expected
home Wednesday from Augusta where
she has been taking a business course.
Mr. J. 11. Milhollin, Jr. spent the
weekend with home folks, returning
to Macon Sunday night.
Dr. C. C. Giddens and Mr. W T . K.
Giddens spent Sunday in Adel
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Kennedy spent
Sunday in Cecil with Mr. and Mrs. A.
M. Clements.
Mr. R. H. Rhymes of Rockingham
drove up Saturday. Mrs. Rhymes re
turning home with him Sunday after
a week’s visit to her mother, Mrs. M.
Morrison.
Mrs. W. R. Love and children of
Midville arrived Monday on a visit to
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Veazy.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bailey spent the
week end in Bainbridge with Mrs.
Bailey’s sisters.
Mr. Max Milhollin of Rome is a
guest at the home of his brother, Mr.
J. 11. Milhollin, Sr.
A cordial welcome is extended Mr.
and Mrs. Tom Adams and children
who are occupying the cottage vacat
ed by Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Kennedy.
They moved here from Mora. Mr.
Adams holds a position with the G.
and F. Railroad.
A party from here visiting St. Sim

Miss Grovia Dockery left last

TUESDAY, JULY 28th
We appeal to the tobacco farmers of Coffee and adjoining counties
to sell their tobocco with us. We will have a first class set of men
who will give service unequaled. We promise our best effort to get
you the highest market price for your tobacco. We are farmers our
selves and cannot call on every farmer in person, but we invite every
tobacco farmer to at least try us with one load of tobacco, and if we
prove worthy and render you service, keep selling with us. Your
business large or small will be appreciated by us.
Our Mr. Knott, who will have chargs of the sales department of
this warehouse, has been in the tobacco business forty years, and knows
every phase of the busines.

Mrs. Robert Hale of Douglas spent
Monday afternoon with her mother,
Mrs. N. Wright.
Mrs. D. L. Solomon of Tampa, Fla.,
visited her brother, Mrs. Eli Smith
last week.
Mr. and Mrs. John Long are mov
ing into the Sullivan house.
Mr. Christmas of Miami, Fla., is
visiting his family. He will return
to Ml|mi Wednesday* accompanied
by his daughter, Miss Mattie Bass
Christian.
Mr. J. IL Milhollin, Sr., left for
North Carolina Saturday.
Mrs. I. C. Register, Miss Annie
Lee Register and Valena Davis were
in Douglas Tuesday morning.
Dr. and Mrs. Davis and baby of
Sebring, Fla., paused in town a
short while Sunday. They had been
visiting in Nieholls and were on their
way to visit Dr. Davis’s parents in
Ashburn. Mrs. Davis is pleasantly
remembered as Miss Ethel Johnson.
Harry Johnson was with them. He
is not entirely well yet; one knee not
healed satisfactory. He will return
soon to an Atlanta hospital.
Mr. Mack Dockery of Waycross,
spent the week end with home folks.
Misses Thelma and Ora Mittie
Ricketson are visiting in Dentor..
Mrs. John Pridgen suffered a stroke
•of apoplexy last week and is quite
feeble at her home near Broxton.

knocked down and her right leg above
the knee run over by a car in Doug
las Monday afternoon. No homes
broken and few scratches. A mira
cle she was not killed.
Next Sunday the Methodist Sun
day School will have a Thanksgiv
ing program for the blessings of a
fine crop throughout this section.
Revival services closed last Friday
night at Mary’s Chapel. There were
eight accessions to the church and a
Sunday school organized with forty
three members.
The Missionary circles met with
Miss Roy Bailey, Mrs. J. E. Lott and
Mrs. B. M. Poer Monday afternoon.
The Team Workers S. S. class will
be entertained Tuesday night by
Milton Leggett at the home of his
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. R.
Leggett. He will be assisted by Miss
Belle O’Quinn.

cher, Ira Moore, Fannie, Minnie, and
Phoebe Deen, Inez Gober and Mica
jah Mobley attended the singing con
vention Sunday at Mystic.
Little Miss Velina Davis
Celebrates 10th Birthday.
Last Saturday sixteen little friends
of Velina Davis gathered at her home
bringing nice little presents, enjoy
ing many games. A birthday cake
was beautiful. Mrs. Davis served
cream and cake.

well entertained the Intermediate
Epworth League at her home.
