WHEREAS, C. R. Beutell, by deed
to secure debt dated August 1, 1923,
conveyed to W. B. Alsup the property
hereinafter described, which said
deed to secure debt is recorded in the
records of the Clerk of the Superior
Court of (’offee County, Georgia, in
Deed Book No. 42, page 494,
AND WHEREAS, the said deed to
secure debt, the property covered

terest thereunder, wes duly tranfer
red by the said W. B. Alsup to the
S’ uthern Exchange Bank of Dublin,
a banking corporation of Dublin,
Georgia, which transfer is duly re
corded in said Coffee County Records,

AND WHEREAS, the said South
ern Exchange Bank of Dublin duly
transferred the . said deed to secure
debt, the property covered thereby
and all rights, title and interest under
said deed to secuie debt to The Citi
zens and Southern Bank, a banking
corporation of Savannah, Georgia,
which transfer is duly recorded in
said records, Book 44, page 363, Now

debt, executed by the said C. R. Beu
tell, the undersigned, the said The
Citizens and Southern Bank, will sell
at public outcry,at Douglas, Coffee

four hundred ninety (490) acres,
more or less; two hundred and ninety
(290) acres, more or less, on the east
side of lot of land number three hun- 1
dred fourteen (314) and being all of
said lot of land on the east side of
Mill Branch; one hundred and fifty'
(150) acres, more or less, on the east
side of lot of land number three hun
dred twenty-three (323) and being
all of said lot of land on the east side
of the pasture fence; twenty (20)
acres, more or less, in the northeast
corner of lot of land number three
hundred and fifteen (315) and bound
ed north and east by the original
lines of said lot and on the south
west by the lands of Da'y- all of said
lots numbered 324 314 323 and 315
being situated, Icing and being in the
First Lan t District of Coffee County.

PETITION FOR CHARTER
GEORGIA, Coffee County.
To the Superior Court of Ceffee
County. .
The petition of A. P. Darby, F. S.
Stubbs, and C. M. Stubbs all of said
State and County, respectfully show:
1. They desire for themselves,
their associates and successors to be
made a body politic, under the name
and style of PAT DARBY LUMBER
COMPANY for a periofi cf twenty
(20) years.
2. The principal office of said
Company shall be in the City of
Douglas. State and County aforesai ■.
but petitioners desire the right to
establish branch offices wihin or wi.n
out this State, whenever and wher?-
eyer the holders of a majority of the
stock may so determine.
3. The capital stock of said cor
poration shall be $10,000.00 common
stock, with the privilege of increas
ing the same to the sum of not ex
ceeding $100,000.00 by a majority
vote of the common stockholders;
said stock shall be divided into shares
of the par value of SIOO.OO each.
Petitioners desire the right to pay
the subscription to said capital stock
-l money or property taken at a fair
valuation.
4. The object of said corporation
is pecuniary gain to its stockholders.
5. The business to be carried on
by said corporation is the saw mill
and plaining njill business, and the
wholesale and retail lumber business
with the right to operate saw mill
and plaining mills and to manufac
ture lumber, staves, cross ties, and
all products usually manufactured at
saw mills, and to buy and to sell
'umber at wholesale and retail, and to
act as agents for others in buying
and selling lumber and timber pro
ducts of every nature and kind.
6. Petitioners desire the right to
sue and be sued; to plead and be im
pleaded; to have and use a common
seal; to make all necessary by-laws
and regulartions and do all other
things that may be necessary for the
successful carrying on of said busi
ness. including the right to buy, hold,
lease and sell timber, real estate, and
nersonal property suitable to the pur
poses of the corporation and to exe
cute notes and bonds as evidence of
indebtedness incurred or which may
be incurred, in the conduct of the af
fairs of tbo corporation and to secure
the same by mortgage, security deed,
ir other form of lien.
7. They desire authoritv for said
corporation to wind up its affairs,
liquidate and discontinue business at
»ny time it mav determine to do so
by the vote of two thirds (2-3) of Us
■took outstanding at the time.
8. They desire the right for said
corporation of renewal as provided
by the laws of Georgia, and they are
to have all ether rights, powers and
.mmunities as are incident to like
rporations or permissible under the
.aws of Georgia.

Notice is hereby given that there
will be introduced at the 1925 session
of tjje General Assembly of Georgia
a local bill entitled:
“An act to authorize the Mayor
and Council of the City of Douglas,
Georgia, to call an election at such
time or times as may be desired, to
submit to the qualified voters of said
City the question of exempting from
taxation certain properties as are
mentioned in Article 7, Section 2,
Paragraph 2, of the Constitution of
the State of Georgia, to provide who
shall vote in said election, how the
ballot shall be prepared and counted
and how the result shall be declared
to comply with all other require
ments of the Constitution of this
State as set forth in the Article,
Section and Paragraph above refer
red to and other purposes”.
