Dth. 1844. This mav certify that my wife has been afflicted with Dvspepsiu and Liver complaint for“tweive years, and has taken a variety of medicines without apparent beneht; even tiieiusUv celebrated Dr Durham of Clark county, faded to benefit her. She suffered much from nervous irritability* palpitation of tbe heart and extreme w eakness so os to be confined almost entirely to her bed. In tins situation I ap-. pUed to Dr. M. S. Thomson, of Macon, under whose direc- ’ lions ana applications. I am happy to say, she soon was ies- tored to comfortable health, and is now able to attend to all tbe usual businesaof her hojuse and family. My daughter was also afflicted witn convulsive fits, from which Dr. Durham failed to relieve her. I applied to Dr. Thomson also in her case, and I am persuaded he has tt- nally cared her; she Ua had no symptom oT them in six months Bui these though certainly cf their kind very eminenl, cannot be commie d lor a moment with the case ol one cl my boos, who has been afflicted with j>aisy to such a degree as to have become perfectly helpless. He first lost the use ot hisVimh*. then of his body, and finally his heaui.no and eyesight, so that he might be in a manner dead, only he breathed, and even that at one time, woa so nearly gone, that ilia clothes were prepared in antiripatiun of his final ex it. We bad made use of the usual remedies in such ca ses, and even had applied to Dy. Stringlellow. a root doc- tor, but wi'Lout benefit. In this sitbatiou. Dr. Thomson was called in, who I am happy to say, has restored him not only to the full aud free use of all bis limbs, but also to tbe -use of his eyes and ears, without which creation were a blank and life itself a burden. ' Tbe change is so great from absolute htlplessnesM. blindues* and deaf him to life and activity, sight and hearing, that it can hardly be realised bv any but those who have seen it.
