A safe and efficient remedy for worms may be found in
Dr. Woodruff’s Worm Specific.
The Proprietor of the above medicine does not wish to
claim for it any more merit than it is really deserving of.
lie might say many things in its favor; he might even at
tempt to pail'it into notice; but as he is satisfied that a real
ly valuable Remedy needs no pulling, and disliking the
practice, he is content to present some of llie testimonial of
those persons who have tested its virtues, believing they
will be sufficient to convince any one who can be convinced,
of its value as a Remedy for Worms. He will only add,
that it has an advantage over many preparations for worms
from the fact that it can be given with perfect safety to a
child of any age; nor is it oecessaiy to give any otliei med
icine with it or after it. as it opeiates upon the bowels,
carrying away the worms and cleansing the bowels of un
healthy secretions at the same time. A trial of it ve think
loitl give satisfaction to any one. It may not cure every
case, but socli is our confidence in it. that we are willing to
warrant its benefiting in every instance, or the money
will betefunded.

Dr. Woodruff— Dear Sir: 1 have had a negiochild that
has been sick for some time. Not knowing what was the
matter with it, we had pretty much given up doing any thing
for it; however, as a last resoit, we concluded to try some
of your W orm Specific, thinking it probably might be
worms that hid reduced it so much—accordingly we com
menced giving your “Specific.” (which by the bye you have
rightly named.) when astonishing to tell it commenced pass-
ing worms and continued doing so fot several days until it
had passed more than 1200, some of them a foot or more
in length, others twisted and knotted together in bard bails,
so that they could not be separated without cutting them
apart. Knowing that a \V,,rm Medicine so valuable as
hours has proven to be. would be used by hundreds, if they
only knew of its virtues, I have concluded to give you this
certificate, so that all may know whet# to fiud a medicine
that can be relied on. JOSEPH SHIPPEY.

Remarkable Cure of Tenia, or Tape Worm.
This is to certify, that 1 have made use of Dr. Wood
ruff’s "Worm Specific,” in my family in several cases,
with lh*> happiest effect. In one case it brought away im
mediately some SO worms of tbe kind called Ascarides—
but its most remarkable effect was exhibited in another
case, a girl of rather delicate health, who complained pretty
constantly of her abdomen. Being satisfied that she hnd
been troubled with worms of some kind, we administered
the Specific, and to our astonishment, it brought from her
a number of pieces of Tape Worm, from two to six or
eight inches in length! Since that time her health'has con
siderably improved; and I have no donbt but that tho med
icine has relieved her of that much to ho dreaded wurm.
The Specific is in high repute in this place, amt is without,
doubt a valuable remedy lor worms.

From Dr. J. K Turner.
Dear Sir—I have tested your “Worm Specific,” until 1
am fmly satisfied of its virtues. But a few days since I
prescribed it in a ease of Irriiaiive Fever from Worms.
The chid had been very sick for two or three days, high
fever all the time, for which I gave your Specific; less than
a bottle cured- the child perfectly. The parents now set a
high estimate upon it. fur it is* an excellent remedy fir
worms. Respectfully, Ac.
Pine Valley. A ug. 6, 1845.
Dear Sir—I have sold several bottles of year "\Vortn
Specific,” and as far as I have heard from it. it has produc
ed the most salutary effect—giving almost immediate relief.
I have used it myself, and have never given nne dose but
that it bad the desired effect, and brought sway worms.
Yours. Ac. A. WHITTEN.

CHRONIC LIVER AFFECTIONS A DYSPEl’&IA,
I can confidently advise and recommend its use,
from my personal observation and use of the article in my
own practice. This article is favorably received wherever
it has been used. I am allowed to refer to Mr. George
H-ard of Troup, Mr John Warren of Columbus, Mr Me-
Affte of Cobb, Mr Asbu-y Hull of Athens. Mr William
D Terrell ol Putnam Rev. John E. Dawson of LaGrange;
to which a great number of names might be added, wdio
bear their testimony to its value.
Doctor Henry Branham has used this medicine in his
own case, and lias prescribed it to many others, gives it as
his opinion, that it la one of die safest and most valuable
medicines that can be used in imperfect digestion, liver
complaints, constipation and irregular state ol the bnwe's.
It is useful in bilious complaints, to persons recovering from
bili.us fevers, and in sick or nervous head ache. To preg
nant women, who are subject to costiveness, this medicino
is well suited. In regulating the slate of the stomach and
bowels, and promoting digestion, it ia particularly useful.
1 could append a long list of certificates, but forbear,
preferring to rely on the virtues of the medicine to sustain
itself. The medicine is a gentle and certaincadiartic.tonic

8. Levi A. Co . promise those of the public, who may be
annoyed by these destructive vermin, that after using this
well tested and highly effectual preparation for a few days,
they will experiences complete riddance ofalllhis vermin.
This preparation possesses the singular property, that
without being actual poison, it will not only kill the Itais,
Mice, Ac., but will, in consequence of the smoke it produces,
positively compel those that do not partake of it, precipi
tately to leave the house.
This preparation has now been in use.in Germany and
France about three years; and been pronounced, by every
one who has given it a fair trial, the best remedy they have
ever used for the extermination of Rats, Mice, Ants, Cock-
Roaches and Bed-Bugs.
The articles composing this composition are in themselves
very innocent, and contain not a panicle of poison; but when
combined create a gas. which explodes the stomach, and
consequently destroys life in a few hours. As soon us it
has effected llie stomach, the articles become neutralized
and will affect nothing thereafter, so that there cau be no
danger in its use under any circumstances.
The directions for using the preparation accompany eve

1 VER.SAL MEDICINE.—Accurately prepared by
Dr. II. S. Moat.ofNew York, from the original recipe used
or many years by his late father, Mr. Thomas Moat, Vfue
President of the British College of Health
Twenty years’ successful administration of these cele
brated medicines in Europe.and more than twelve yearsiu
tbe United States, have established their high reputaticn.
Thousands of both sexes, who have been restored to health
—the numerous sufferers rescued from premature death—
and volumes of certified cases ol cure, embracing every
disease in the long catalogue of human misery; must con
vince the most incredulous, of their superiority and the
truth uf the Hygeian theory, resulting from scientific re
search and experience, namely, that “man is subject to only
one real disease—impurity of the blood."
The medicines being composed entirely of herbs or ve
getable matter, purify the blond, and carry off the corrupt
humors of the body, in a maimer so simple as to give every
day case and pleasure.
Toe Hygeian medicines, first introduced into this coun-
try by H. S. Moat, in 1830, have for the last four years
bees prepared by him; and the increasing sale attests their
intrinsic merit; they comprise two sorts of Fdln, No. 1 and
2, in single boxes of each at 25 or 50 cents; and Packets con-
tainine both sorts, at 31. 32. or $3, The Vegetable Clean
sing Powders, in Urge boxes, at 37 1-2 cents, with printed
directions. Each packet has a facsimile of the signature
of II. Sliepheard Moat.

VEGETABLE UNIVERSAL PILLS.
T HIS medicine is acknowledged to bv one of the most
valuable ever discovered as a purifier of tbe blood
and fluids. It.is superior to Sarsaparilla, whether as a su
dorific or alterative, and stands infinitely before all the pre
parations and combinations of Mercury. Its purgative
properties are alone of incalculable value, for these pills
may be taken daily for any period, and. instead of weaken,
iogby the cathartic effect, they add strength by taking away
the cause of weakness. They have none of die miserable
effects ot that deadly specific. Mercury; The teeth are not
injured—the bones and limbs are uot paralyzed—no; blit In
stead of these distressing symptoms, new life nud con:e-
quent animation is evident in every movement of the body.
These Pills, for colds, coughs, tightness of the chest,
rheumatism in the he'd or limbs, will be found superior to
any thing imagined of the powers of medicine; and in bil
ious affections, dispepsia. and in all diseases pectilierto
women, they should be resorted to at once.
