I F you wish to retain your preconceived opinions relative

the timid and weak minded in some cases, alas ! to their
lasting sorrow and too late, regret, when they have learned
by sna experience, to appreciate the difference of simple

Macon, Ga. 27th April. 1846.
This may certify, that 1 was attacked last October with
Bilious Fever, and cailcJ in my family physician (an emi
nentone) Dr Boon, to treat my case, but though no time
had been lost in procuring his assistance, I got worse and
worse, and continued to sink from the combined attack of
the disease and a rising, which just then had made its ap
pearance on my body, aod notwithstanding the continued
and strict attention of Drs. Boon A Robson, I got so low
that on the fourteenth day, 1 was thofight to be dying, and
as I have since understood was so pronounced by the phy
sicians to several of my friends, next morning, being tho
extent of time that was allowed me of tile; and to all hu
man appearance, well might they say so. for I had been
baring hickups almost constantly for six days and' nights,
the parts around the rising were mortjfied and perfectly
black, exceeding a thin green frntid matter, which was al
most intolerable to those who w ere around me, starting ami
twitching of the tendons u ere also present, and my t xpec-
toration had become quite Mark—in furl. »• I •>..
my friends wers in hourly expectation of witnessing my
final exit, when it was suggested that as Dr. Thompson
had already raised some desperate and given over
case*, he might possibly he able to do somethin;
in this; a drowning man will catch at straws, ant
my friends with this view had him sent for, but he
would not undertake the case till he ascertained po
sitively that it had been given out by the others, on ascer
taining which. he then took charge of it. and to the utter
astonishment of all who saw me. succeeded in restoring me
to health; iny hickups ceased, the mortified pieces of
flesh dropped off, and left tbe other parts in a fine healthy
condition, and l now feel that, by the blessing of God and
the Doctor’s skill, I have a new lease of life, having been
restored hack almost from tbe grave to the love and bosom
of my grateful family. DUE WRY THOMPSON.
This may certify that we the undersigned, saw and were
witnesses to most of these facts above staled, and do not
think that there is the least exnggeration in the whole

this was certainly a remarkable cure.

S OLOMON LEVI Jc CO., respectfully offerto the pub
lic their self prepared, well tested and highly effectual
preparation for exterminating Rats, Mice, Cock-Rcaches
Ants, and Bed-Bugs!
S. Levi Sc Co , promise those of the public, who msy he
annoyed by these destructive vermin, that after using this
well tested and highly effectual preparation for a few days,
they will experience a complete riddance of al I this vermin.
This preparation possesses the singular property, that
without being actual poison.it will not only kill the Rats,
Mice. &c., but will, in consequence of thesunke it produces,
positively compel those that d r not partake of it, precipi
tately to leave the house. ,
This preparstion has now been in use in Germany and
France about three years; and been pronounced, by every
one who lias given it a fair trial, the best remedy they have
ever used for the extermination of Rats, Mice, Ants, Cock-
Roaches nnd Bed-Bugs.
The articles composing this composition are in tliemsclves
very innocent, and contain not a particle of poison; but when
combined create n gas. which explodes the stomach, and
consequently destroys life in a few hours. As soon as it
has effected the stomach, the articles, become neutralized
and will affect nothing thereafter, so that there can be no
danger in its use under any circumstances.
The directions for using the preparation accompany eve
ry box, and arecheap and simple.

or many years by his late father, Mr. Thomas Moat, Vise
President of the British College of Health
Twenty years’ successful administration of these cele
brated medicines in Europe, and more than twelve years in
the Untied States, have established their high reputation.
Thousands of both sexes, who have been restored to health
—the numerous sufferers rescued from premature death—
and volumes of certified cases ol cure, embracing every
disease in the long catalogue of human misery; musLcon-
vinee the most incredulous, of their superiority and the
truth of the Hygcian theory, resulting from scientific re
search and experience, namely, that “man is subject to only
one real disease—impurity of the blood.”
The medicines being composed entirely of herbs or ve
getable matter, purify the blood, and carry oil'the corrupt

Toe Hygeian medicines, first introduced into this coun

VEGETABLE UNIVERSAL PILLS.
rjTHIS medicintJis acknowledged to be one of the most
X valuable ever discovered as a purifier of the blood
and fluids. It is superior to Sarsaparilla, whether as a su-
dorilic or alterative, nnd stands infinitely before all the pre-
can say that I haye found them to be similar in their opera partitions and combinations of Mercury. Its purgative

properties are alone of incalculable value, for these pills
mny he taken daily for any period, and. instead of weaken
ing by the cathartic effect, they add strength by taking away
the cause of weakness. They have none nf the miserable
effects ot that deadly specific, Mercury: The teeth are uot
injured—the bones and limbs are not paralyzed—no; but in
stead of these distressing symptoms, new life and conse
quent animation is evident in every movetnentof t|te body.
These Pills, for colds, roughs, lightness of the chest,
rheumatism in the head or limbs, will be found superior to
any thing imagined of tbepowersof medicine; and in bil
ious affections, dispepsin, and in all diseases peculiar to
women, they should he resorted to at once.
