The weather is clear and cool;
every body is making good time
in the cotton patch.
Four marriages last Sunday.
Some of the boys are wealing
crape around their arms since Jirt-
nie B married.
Ma'iimony fever is raging her,.;
it is contagious and if there is any
ore that is afraid of the matrimony
panic they had better begin taking
a preventative.
Cotton is being whirled into the
maiket, covered with jute, sacks,
sheeting and nearly anything else
that the people can get.
Us big boys in this part of the
county voted and done all we could
for Thornton in both primrries but
we see that down below town they
are so eager to elect Snead that we
will p omise to help them if they
will shave him.
Drummers are plentiful here
now; they come most every day;
this speaks well for business.
Mr. W W. Wilkins has been
sick several days. We are glad to
learn that he is mending slowly.
Colds and coughs are pretty
general,
We hope that this cool weather
reaches the yellow fever in Florida.
Lots of goods received at Brog-
don every week.
There was more preach’ng at
Hopeful last Sundry.
C. B. Brogdon invies every body
that wishes to buy jeans to call
