The wild cat club was out in full force Wednesday night. Miss Pauline Beadles is visiting relatives and friends in Jonesboro. Manse Stell will enter the tele* giaph school a Senoia next Mon day. The boys are possum hunting but we never see any game they ca.tch. “Man wants but little here be* low’ 7 —but he wants that little quick. Cotton continues to come in with a rush. The crops are short, however, Pearl Claridy returned home this week after a bleasant visit to Atlanti. Prof. C. P. Davis left Sunday, for Waldo, Fla., where he has a fine school. Dr. Claridy preached an interes ting sermon at the Baptist church Sunday night. Parties owing Edwards & Gilbert will please come forward and set tle at once. Mrs. Mary Blalock, Mrs. Roxa Blalock and Estelle Be;.nett are visiting Atlanta. Mrs. John Lester has been quite sick with lever but we are glad to know she is improving. Mrs. Hall, who has been visit** ing her husband here, left Tuesday for her home in Atlanta. Mrs. F. G. Hill went to Flo- villa last Tuesday where she will remain until after Christmas. Good prices for cotton and cheap goods is the way to save money. Come here and verify it. The new stores are being rapid, ly built and will be ready for occu pancy about the first of Decem ber. Mr. J oe Ormond, agent tor the Equitable Life Insurance Com pany has been enjoying himself hunting birds. This is the best cotton market in middle Georgia outside of At lanta and our cotton buyers are paying Atlanta prices. A. E. Stokes and Col. Malvern Hill vvetU to Selina Wednesday brospecting, Stokes says there is enough land there for a large town. Court at Rare Over tomorrow. Don’t forget to vote next Tues day. Uncle Jack Patman is at home again. Our Inman locals came in to late for this issne and will appear in our next. Our Brogdon lacals did not reach us this week. Clever Barney Harrell spent this week in Fayetteville. John L. The Club will m»et next Mon day night at the residence of Mrs. L. F. Blalock. Miss Loie Waters visited rela tives here Saturday and Sunday and i eturned to Jonesboro Monday W. C. Parker, of Fairburn, pass ed through town Wednesday en route to his mill in the lower part of the ccunty. Mrs. B. F. McBride is in a very critical condition. She has ty phoid fever and it is thonght to be a hopeless case. Since the above has been put in type we are informed of Mrs. Mc Brides' death. The telegraph poles have been placed from here to Atlanta and the srrall boy that catches the lightening will soon pnt in his ap pearance. Col. J. L. Blalock is having the slate roof on his store repaired this week. It has been braced and is now one of the best store rooms in town. Mr. Tull Waters, of the A. & F. R. R. and Messrs Kendall and Tonchstone of Williamson spent this week here hunting birds with Will and Frank Wells. Mrs. L. A. Perdue, Mrs. A. E. Stokes, Mrs. J. N. Cail>le, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Martin, LGz : e Stokes and Nina Perdue went to Atlanta yesterday shopping. The merchants here don’t ask how much trade there is in a bale of cotton. They buy it straight and ifyou want any goods they will sell them to you cheaper than any town around here. Miss Annie Wynn, of Coweta came down from Atlanta Wed nesday morning. She only tarried a few minutes as she was en route to the nuptial fastivities of Mr. Jackson and Miss Alberta Smith. Misses Lee and Beauty Griggs, Alice and Emma Henderson, Mat Gilbert and ye Editor went hick ory nut hunting Monday and gathered about six bushels. Il you don’t believe they are heavy just ask us, We carried four bnshels about twelve miles. Ugh !! KITCHENS—HENDERSON. Wednesday night Oct. 31st, at the residence of the brides brother n Atlanta J.
