OBITUARY.
J. W. Brown was born in Hand

1840 and died at his home in Fay
etteville Ga. Oct, 20ih .1888.
Brother Brown was a true man.
He had tor several years filled the
office of Sheriff in Fayette county
and was at the time, of his drath
one of the most faithful office! s
the connty ever had. He was
loved and respected by all. He
professed Religion and joined the
M. E. Church South und r the
ministry of Rev. George E. Gard
ner, and from the time of his con
version has been one of the best
and truest members of his church,
always ready to do what he could
for the glory of God and the good
of the church. At the time of his
death he was one of the best
Stewarts on the Fayetteville cir

!ov<. d his pastor, and was on the
good side of every Christian, Ilis
house was a home for the preach

affectionate and true. As a fa
ther one of the kindest. I never
knew a man that showed more
love for his children than he did.
He leaves his faithful wife and
four children with hearts crushed
but they sorrow not as those who
h veno hope. May the blessings
of God be upon the sorrowing
ones, and may this dispensation
of His providence cause them to
live close to the mark, and may
they at last make an unbroken
family around the great white
Throne.
