Common Salt.
Concerning the usefulness of
salt, there is much to be said, li
is one of the most effective reme

made and snuffed up the nose, al

One of the most effective reme

He must have seen that in the h; s

playing into the hands of a gang
of adventurers. Mr. Blount will in

no doubt that when lie is once pos

In the spring when the system is
apt to be run down by the confine
ment in the heated atmosphere of
winter houses and by lack of the
good, green vegetables which do so
much to tone lip the system it is
well to call attention to the value
of salt bathing. Almost all intel
ligent nurses now recommend the
salt hath, especially for nervous
persons or individuals whoso sys
tems have become enervated by
lack of abundant outdoor exercise.
Where a person is in individually
good health and is accustomed to
cold balh a cup of rock salt may
always be used to advantage
dissolved in the bathingwnler.
But this saline bath must be
rinsed oil' afterward with clear wa
ter, and the body then rubbed vig
orously with heavy crash towels.
But in the ease of a little child or
a delicate person authorities rec
ommend the warm salt water bath
taken at night just before retiring.
The soothing effect of such a bath
as this can hardly be appreciated: w ill iva-ti
