Dr. Paul Faver has lost his fine
buggy mare, which was one of the
best animals in the county. He
went to market this week to buy
another.
Sam Eastin came down from the
Gate City Saturday to visit his
parents, and also called in town
Sunday afternoon, where many
f'iends warmly welcomed him.

jority.
C. N. Griffin, of the Sixth Dis
trict, is one or The News’ warm
friends and constant patrons. Last
Friday he renewed his subscription
for another year and gave us good
words of cheer, for all of which he
has our sincere thanka and due

examination of applicants for
County School Commissioner lust

Chairman J. G. Posey conducted
the examination. There were three
applicants—W. N. D, Dixon and J.

W. Culpepper, of Inman. Either
of these gentlemen are qualified tor
the position. The Board adjourned
until Wednesday to hold their eiec
tion, at which time they elected

Death of Mrs. Avrea.,
Mrs. I. B. Avrea is dead. One
of the “Good old Mothers in Israel ’
has gone to her eternal home.
Mrs. Avrea was sick hut a short
while, being in lied just two or

Mrs. Olin Moore’s Death.
The friends of Mr. Olin Moore,
of Inman, are grieved to learn of
