from a scaffold and hurt his back
and received a bruise on the
head. He is doing very well at
present.
A. W. Fortson, of near Lisbon,
has sold his place and bought a
farm near Amboy in Dooly coun
ty and will move his family there
next week.

Mrs. A. P. Sams gave a heart-
dice party last Saturday evening,
in honote. of her sister, Miss
Gladys MViough. Most of the
young people of the town were
present, and all were delighted
at the pleasant evening.
Last Tuesday night a residence
at Chestlehurst was broken into
and many articles taken. The
authorities were notified at once
and Sheriff Brown now has in
the county jail several parties
who it is said burglarized the
residence.
Dr. R. H. Taylor, of Griffin,
spent the week-end with his sis
ter, Mrs. J. W. Culpepper. Dr.
Taylor is one of the most promi
nent physicians of Griffin and
has a host of friends in Fayette
who are always glad to have him
visit our city and county.
Dr. W. W. Allen and wife, of
Atlanta, is spending the holidays
with the latters parents Mr. and
Mrs. J. W. Kitchens. Dr. Allen
is one of the most prominent

day for her home at Deep Step
after spending the holidays here
with Miss Mattie Mae Lewis.
She has a fine school at that
place. Miss Brooks taught in
this county two years ago and
made many friends during her
stay who were glad to meet her

MissVassie Smith in honor of
her brother, Remberi Smith, and
Mr. Raleigh Daniel, of Atlanta.

Rev. G. W. Wood preached at
the Baptist church last Sunday.
This was the last appointment of
this year. He declined the call
another year. We appreciate his
work in our town and feel that
his work will be living in the
years to come. He has been &
faithful pastor and we regret to
have him leave the work.

of the evening. Refreshments

parted thanking the Misses Gra-
